Today is International Women in Engineering Day, which acknowledges women in the engineering profession and the outstanding achievements of female engineers throughout the world. So we are thrilled to feature the incredible women engineers at Kapsch and to share their backgrounds, insights, and accomplishments! We thank them for being advocates for women in their roles and for their contribution to the development and deployment of our solutions worldwide.
Kapsch commemorated #Juneteenth with an open panel discussion that addressed questions of racism, shared employee experiences and insight, and emphasized the need for all individuals to stand up against racial bias and situations of injustice. Staff across the NAM region engaged actively in the conversation, underscoring the importance of open dialogue as a necessary step on the path toward change. We look forward to continuing the journey together as we determine the next steps in promoting the principles of awareness and equality. Thanks to our panelists Chris Murray, Ashley Haigler, Robert C., Raven Lee, JB Kendrick, Jefferson Broomes and to all NAM employees who contributed to the discussion.

Kapsch congratulates the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) for being a winner of the Technical Innovation award from the American Public Works Association (APWA). The CTRMA Wrong-Way Detection system on the 45SW toll road in Austin, Texas, is a Kapsch installation that reduces wrong-way driving collisions and emergency response time by activating roadside signage to alert wrong- and right-way drivers, first responders, and CTRMA’s Traffic & Incident Management (TIM) Center. The APWA Technical Innovation award recognizes innovative projects that support the goals of public works to serve the public and protect the environment.
Even during unprecedented times, Kapsch teams deliver! In three months our project team worked tirelessly to deploy 14 AET toll zones on Maryland Transportation Authority roads near Baltimore, MD. Through 12-hour shifts in 56-hour weekend periods, inclement weather, and new COVID-19 precautionary working arrangements, the crew installed new gantries and configured, tuned, and tested the systems. We are extraordinarily proud of our MDTA project team for their expertise, dedication, and hard work!
Where would the technology industry be without the support of our IT teams? Meet Bisrat Habtu, one of our IT admins who ensures our technical systems run smoothly. At a young age, Bis fueled his fascination of technology by taking apart electronics to see how they worked. His passion led him to his career today with Kapsch. Today we recognize our awesome warehouse staff for going #aboveandbeyond during these challenging times. 🌟 These guys ensure that project inventory remains stocked and that customer installations remain on schedule, despite new shipping delays and restrictions in global supply chains. They have also introduced new preventative measures on site including wrapping international deliveries, sanitizing warehouse equipment, and adding additional hand washing stations. We thank them for their expertise and support to keep our operations running!
