Today, the UK is marking one year since the first coronavirus lockdown was announced, and last week at Moneysupermarket Group was a year since we all started working remotely. To celebrate this milestone, we reached out to colleagues to share some of their highlights from the last year. From home workouts and home schooling, to baking and lockdown haircuts, this video celebrates the little moments of joy from a year that’s been undoubtedly difficult for everyone. Enjoy!
This week is Neurodiversity Celebration Week, and to mark the week at MSMG, our Employee Resource Group #Represent hosted a week of talks to raise awareness of neurodiverse conditions and highlight neurodivergent strengths and how colleagues with neurodiverse conditions can help bring new, diverse perspectives. Colleagues are joining talks on living with undiagnosed ADHD and Autism, exploring experience of ableism in the workplace and our #Represent team shared top picks of films, tv, literature and blogs that showcase neurodiversity. This celebration supports our Group behaviour to create belonging and an inclusive environment, where everyone can be their true selves and where everyone's voice is valued. We believe that this diversity of thought - and of different perspectives - helps us thrive as individuals and together as a team.
We are extremely proud of The Bytes team who reached an impressive milestone of preparing 28,000 meals during their collaboration with Nanny Biscuit! When the pandemic began in 2020, the team came up with the fantastic idea of supporting our local community by providing meals to the vulnerable, homeless and elderly. On average the team have been making 150 meals per day, which get collected by volunteers for Nanny Biscuit and distributed across Wales, going as far as Rhyl, Wrexham and Flintshire. If you’d like to hear more from Bytes, head over to our blog section on our careers page to watch a short video.
On 1st September, we welcomed our new CEO, Peter Duffy, to Moneysupermarket Group. Peter kicked off his first day with a company-wide virtual event from our London office where we learned more about Peter, his leadership style, why he joined the Group and his plans for the next few weeks. He then got on the road to meet our colleagues and visit our offices in Ewloe and Manchester. It’s a strange time to join the business, with one colleague meeting Peter for the first time while they both faced different corners in the lift (!) but despite the Covid-safe distancing measures and lack of hand shaking we'd like wish a MoneySuperWarm welcome to Peter. We’re all super excited to see what’s to come!
At Moneysupermarket Group, we work with purpose and are committed to supporting charities, individuals, and communities in need. Today, we are proud to launch our #PhonesforFutures initiative where you can recycle your old phones and turn them into donations for our charity partner, The Prince's Trust to help change young people's lives. Clear out your cupboards and find your old gadgets to donate. Just one phone could provide five young people with the life-changing advice they need to take control of their future. All you need to do is head to the webpage, search for your device, choose a recycler and then donate the value directly to The Prince's Trust. They really could change lives. #BeyondComparison #ProudtobeMSMG #PhonesForFutures #BelongatMSMG

Our fantastic colleagues and their children have been getting crafty to celebrate our NHS and key workers, and have shared some of their brilliant, colourful artwork with us. We're looking forward to clapping for our carers tonight at 8pm and hope you'll show your support and join in too. #clapforourcarers #nhsheroes #ProudtobeMSMG #BelongatMSMG #keyworkers #ournhs #artwork
As we approach the end of week five of remote working at Moneysupermarket Group, we wanted to share some insights and stories on how our colleagues are working, adapting, staying productive and having fun remotely. For our first Colleague Story, we have asked our Head Chef Dan, who is part of our Ewloe Bytes Team to give some insight into how his team is getting on 😁
Last week, our Employee Resource Group Thrive scooped the award for Best New Workplace Approach to Mental Health at the This Can Happen Awards 2019. Congratulations to all our colleagues involved in Thrive, who empower a culture supportive of mental health at MSMG! #BelongatMSMG #ThisCanHappen2019
