There are 60 million workers in high-churn, low-wage jobs who are unable to access higher-wage work. According to our new research with The Burning Glass Institute, these are individuals who have gained valuable skills on the job, and could utilize apprenticeships to move into career pathway roles – if given the opportunity. This incredible talent pool wouldn’t just fill in-demand roles with qualified talent, but it would also increase diversity, equity, and inclusion as these workers are disproportionately women, Black, Hispanic, or living with economic disadvantages. We’re thrilled to share this moment of immense pride for Aris M., one of 25 apprentices honored at the U.S. Department of Labor’s National Youth Apprenticeship Graduation. 👏🎓 Acting Secretary Julie Su, U.S. Department of Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, and other business leaders, gathered in Washington DC to kick off National Apprenticeship Week 2023, with a graduation ceremony for workers who recently completed apprenticeship programs. As a recent graduate of Multiverse’s Digital Business Accelerator, Aris was there to represent Multiverse alongside General Manager, Asha Aravindakshan. “The apprenticeship program graduates we honored here today at the Department of Labor remind us how these programs change peoples’ lives, creating a brighter future for them and for our nation,” said Acting Secretary Su. As Aris embarks on the next chapter of her career, we’re confident that she will continue to shine brightly and make significant contributions to her chosen industry. Her success reinforces our belief in the power of mentorship, applied learning, and the impact of apprenticeship programs. Congratulations, Aris!
