The moment we lit up Times Square. 💫 This record-breaking funding will open more doors for a new generation of leaders. 🦄 This is the team accelerating our US expansion. Watch this space. 🚀
We’re delighted to announce that we’ve raised a $220m Series D to transform even more lives through apprenticeships, at the world’s best organizations. This record-breaking funding will empower us to build on our success, working with companies like Verizon, Cisco, Visa, and Box. As ever, we’d like to use this moment to recognize our community of apprentices working across 500 organizations in the US and UK. Without their talent and commitment, none of this would be possible. This latest funding round was co-led by StepStone Group and returning investors Lightspeed Venture Partners and General Catalyst. With their support, we can continue scaling up the outstanding alternative to college and corporate training. 🚀

We know it can be hard to switch off when you’re working for a mission-driven company, undergoing rapid growth. That’s why the whole company will be switching off, once a quarter. Every individual is different so there are no rules about how to spend the day, but we’re encouraging everyone to take care of themselves on their day off. We know this isn’t the only solution and that’s why we have a number of initiatives designed to support our people with their wellbeing.
Yesterday, we celebrated International Women’s Day 🎉 and…it’s got us thinking, what does breaking the bias mean to you? For us, breaking the bias across industries and education systems is crucial to empowering a diverse group of future leaders in tech. The fact is, the tech industry in particular has a diversity problem. Only 5% of Software Engineers and just 19% of the tech workforce as a whole, are women. At Multiverse 36% of our software engineering apprentices and 43% of our tech apprentices (software + data) are women. Internally, 56% of Multiverse employees and 73% at Director level and above are women. Whilst this shows higher representation than the industry as a whole, we know we need to do even more, so we will continue working hard to unlock access to the best tech careers for women through apprenticeships.
Elizabeth Naameh was the first Data Coach to join our US team and she delivers our Data apprenticeship program, democratizing access to great careers for people across America. In this blog, Elizabeth shares how she transitioned from a Computer Science Teacher to a Data Coach at Multiverse - the perfect combination of her skills and ambitions.
Congratulations to our coach of the month, Annie Woodcock 🎉 Annie’s purposeful coaching style gets results and she doesn’t waste any time in sharing those results with the rest of the coaching team. But what stands out the most in apprentices’ minds is the support they get during the more challenging parts of their learning journey. People Leadership Apprentice, Charlotte sums it up best.
