Proud moments like these make us who we are. At ODL Custom Solutions, we’re not just building products—we’re preserving stories. Our team recently partnered with Pella of West Michigan and Restore Consulting, LLC to help renovate the façade of the historic Outpost building in downtown Holland. From design to glazing, our team worked closely with project partners to deliver ten custom transom units that preserved the building’s character while solving for functionality and budget. Curious about the kind of work we do—and the people behind it? As we celebrate National Employee Wellness Month, we’re highlighting how wellness shows up across our locations—including through employee-led initiatives like Wellness Wednesday. At one of our ODL sites, team members have introduced a monthly Wellness Wednesday—dedicated time during the workday to focus on well-being through activities like: • Hydration Challenges • Creative Expression Paint Sessions • Healthy Snack Stations • Walking Meetings • Gratitude Reflections • Mocktail Happy Hour Socials From mental and physical wellness to connection and creativity, these moments create space to recharge, reflect, and support one another. While not all locations have the same programs, initiatives like this are a powerful example of how ODL team members take ownership of their culture and well-being. Because when our people thrive—so do we.
June is National Employee Wellness Month! At ODL, we know that when our people feel their best-physically, mentally, and emotionally-they're empowered to do their best work. That's why we invest in wellness programs that support the whole person, both on and off the clock. In the U.S., some of the wellness offerings available to team members include: Gym Membership Reimbursement - Supporting your fitness goals by covering the cost of staying active. Onsite Nurse Services (through HealthBar) - Making healthcare more convenient with personalized, on-the-spot care at select locations. Mental Health Care Coverage - Prioritizing emotional well-being with resources that support your mental health journey. Wellness isn't just a monthly theme-it's a year-round commitment. Because when our people thrive, so does our entire organization.
As we close out our skilled trades spotlight series, we’re excited to highlight Bryan Bultema, our Managing Director at ODL Europe. Bryan’s ODL career started when he joined as a temporary production worker during his summer break. In his early days, Bryan found creative ways to challenge himself—submitting process improvement ideas, setting production records, and constantly looking for ways to improve. His initiative paid off, within 3 years, he became a team leader at just 23. That role led to many others: Operational Supervisor, Plant Manager, Director of Distribution, and eventually leading entire business units in Canada and Europe. One of the most defining moments in his career came early on, when he reached out to the company president to talk about his career path. That meeting didn’t just give him clarity—it gave him confidence. It also taught him a lasting lesson about leadership: the power of being present, open, and invested in others’ growth. After 36 years, multiple career chapters, and even a transatlantic relocation, Bryan still approaches his work with the same energy and integrity that got him here. His advice to others starting their careers? “Show up. Do the work. Take advantage of the resources. Don’t wait for someone to hand you the opportunity—show them you’re ready for it.” Thank you, Bryan, for closing out our series with such a powerful story—and for showing what a lifelong career in skilled trades and manufacturing leadership can look like.
As we celebrate our skilled trades professionals this month, we are proud to spotlight John Freeman, a Maintenance Technician who has been a valued part of ODL for nearly 28 years. John’s journey into the trades began in high school, where he discovered a passion for welding and machine building. That early spark led him to pursue an associate’s degree in electronics and industrial maintenance, and eventually, a long and fulfilling career at ODL. Today, John is the go-to expert for equipment servicing and special projects. We asked John what keeps him motivated, his answer is “People at ODL”. “I like moving around and talking with people as I fix things” he says. John’s role involves diagnosing and fixing equipment issues, showcasing his extensive knowledge and problem-solving skills. Over the years at ODL, he’s continually expanded his expertise, especially in industrial electrical systems, which has been key to his professional growth. His advice for anyone considering this career path is: “Make sure it’s something you enjoy. That’s what makes it easier to get up and come to work.” Thank you, John, for your dedication, your craftsmanship, and the care you bring every day. We’re honored to have you on the ODL team.
Today we celebrate the hands-on experts who keep our world running. Skilled trades are the backbone of ODL — from operating machinery to maintaining equipment, building products, and solving problems on the floor. Our tradespeople are problem-solvers, doers, makers, and fixers. They don’t just get the job done — they do it with precision, pride, and care. On this Skilled Trades Day, we say thank you to the tradespeople at ODL who make it all possible. Whether you’re just starting out or bringing years of experience, consider ODL as your next career destination.

We couldn’t wrap up Women’s History Month without sharing Griffeta Jones’ story! Her journey is a testament to her dedication and development, having moved from a 2nd shift Injection Molding temp to her current role as Coordinator, a position she has proudly held for 7 years. Initially uncertain about transitioning from the assembly line to a coordinator role, Griffetta adopted a leadership approach centered on understanding and mutual respect, which earned her team’s trust and confidence. Griffetta beams with pride over her current role, appreciative of the family-like dynamic that defines her team. Over the years, she's completed numerous leadership courses that have enhanced her abilities as a leader and she attributes her success to the mentorship of ODL’s long-term employees, such as Dan TenHarmsel. Dan's mentorship played a pivotal role in guiding her development. Outside of work, Griffetta has been inspired by her father and grandmother and balances her career with family life—a lesson she learned after her son’s passing. While she loves her work and colleagues, family and personal time hold the highest value in her life, inspiring her to find a balance. Her advice to women entering the field is profound: "Be yourself, get out of your head, and try things without letting self-doubt hinder progress. You never know what you can achieve until you try." Griffetta exemplifies the supportive culture at ODL, demonstrating integrity, resilience, and the power of mentorship.
Continuing our Women’s History Month spotlight, we are proud to feature Annie Agrotis, whose curiosity and empathetic leadership have driven her success at ODL. As the Director of Product Management, Annie has made a significant impact since joining the company. Although Annie didn’t come from the building products industry, her dedication to learning allowed her to grow rapidly. She expanded her role from managing product efforts in the doors business to overseeing all of ODL's products across North America. One of her most notable achievements is leading the development of a 7-year strategy for the organization that unified her team and delivered substantial business and customer success. Annie leads with empathy, creating an environment where her team can thrive. As a coach and mentor, she empowers others through guidance and support, embodying her belief that empathy is transformative in leadership. She offers powerful advice to women in the workforce: “Never underestimate the power of your voice. Having a seat at the table is not enough—you need to have a voice at the table. Speak up, challenge the status quo, and seize every opportunity to learn.” Annie also emphasizes the importance of curiosity: “Keeping a curious mindset opens up opportunities and helps you connect better with people.” ODL’s supportive culture and values have been instrumental in Annie’s achievements, enabling her to lead with integrity and take bold, calculated risks.
