Yasmin Zarabi (Head of ESG, General Counsel) attended the World Economic Forum Global Technology Governance Retreat in San Francisco. Forum members from across the world, including tech leaders, start-up entrepreneurs, innovators, policy makers and civil society representatives, came together to discuss digitization, AI, data and ESG. The conversation focused on enabling intelligent manufacturing to boost productivity and drive sustainability in industrial production. By 2027, the market value for AI in manufacturing is estimated to be $20 billion. Participants agreed that AI should not replace workers, but make them more efficient by automating mundane, dangerous tasks (only 1 in 10 manufacturers fully leverages technology today). By doing so, upskilled workers are a more valuable part of our industrial future. The main takeaways: Technology is radically transforming the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Leaders and innovators want to do this with good in mind, including solving for ESG, accessible healthcare, and data ethicacy.
