As it's National Apprenticeship Week, we wanted to shout about the awesome Linann who was a HR Apprentice at RHP for a year and a half. She's now successfully completed her Apprenticeship, and this month started a fantastic new role! Before Linann left she took part in a special Q&A with us all about her Apprenticeship experience at RHP. #NAW2022
Time to Talk day is a national event by Mind, the mental health charity, aimed at breaking down barriers around mental health and to get us all talking. We were so proud of our Mind Matters Champion's who organised a bumper day of activities including three Tea & Talk sessions and an interactive quiz all about mental health. On top of all of that, we were excited to introduce two new wellbeing initiatives aimed at continuing the conversation, monthly Walk & Talk sessions and weekly meditation! Oh, and anyone who joined in the conversation got one of these snazzy mugs to keep!
Today is Time to Talk Day and right now, there are conversations about mental health taking place in homes, schools, and offices right across the country. Talking about how we’re feeling can help put things into perspective and help us feel more positive about the future. Our Mind Matters Champions will be hosting Tea & Talk sessions today, both virtually and at various RHP locations so that everybody across the business has an opportunity to join. We are encouraging our people to take a break, connect with others who they might not have seen for a while and to just have a chat! Whatever you do today, remember Time to Talk Day isn’t the end – it’s just the beginning. Today is the time to start those conversations, and tomorrow is the time to keep them going!
With #CustomerServiceWeek taking place this week, we wanted to voice our support for the Institute of Customer Service's 'Service with Respect' campaign. The campaign highlights that all front line workers deserve to be treated with respect. This is a belief we very much share whilst, in turn, always making sure we're treating our customers with the upmost respect too. We'll pledge to do all we can to continue to support all of our employees to ensure they have the tools they need to carry out conversations that are respectful to both themselves and our customers #NCSW21
#nationalinclusionweek2021 took place last week and we celebrated the event with both our employees and customers. It's especially meaningful to us that our people tell us that our culture at RHP makes them feel comfortable bringing their full selves to work. We know through experience that different ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds create a stronger work environment that delivers better results. Follow this link to watch a video where employees from our Inclusion Network share their experiences of working at RHP: and the power of being connected through difference. https://lnkd.in/dPpYqMAp
At RHP, continuous learning is part of who we are: it helps our people be the very best they can be. 2020/21 has had its challenges, but we've kept a laser focus on learning and development: empowering people to take accountability for their own learning, welcoming new starters to the organisation, and supporting employees with their professional development. Here are some standout achievements from the past year.
We love to host talks for our people and with #WorldEnvironmentDay taking place on 5 June, this week was no exception! To mark the day we invited Professor Alistair Griffiths to give us a talk on gardening and wellbeing. Alistair previously worked as Head Scientist at the Eden Project in Cornwall. He now leads the science and collection teams at the Royal Horticultural Society. Alistair's talk focused on how to connect with nature whether you have a garden or not, along with insight into exactly why greenery is so good for us. His tips proved so useful that, not only will we be able to use them in our own lives but we’ll be able to think about how we can use them with our customers too.
Last Friday we ran our first ever virtual employee conference ‘Stronger Together’ – reflecting on how we've remained together in spirit over the past year (despite being physically apart) and celebrating the hero in everyone. The morning included an Avengers themed segment from our Exec Group, an inspiring talk from the wonderful Amar Latif and our own version of the Masked Singer! There was also a breakout activity where people got to chat to others they hadn’t seen in a while. Despite it being online, we were blown away by the energy and enthusiasm everyone brought and there was still plenty of interaction, connection and fun. Thanks to all of our employees who came and made it a memorable event.
This week marked International Women's Day. A key part of our culture at RHP Group is to create an environment where everyone can be themselves and people are treated fairly and equally. We embrace and understand the value that diversity brings – it can only make us better and stronger 💪
We’ve taken part in Race Equality Week’s ‘Big Promise’ initiative which sets out our commitment to create a positive change. This promise is underpinned by our inclusion strategy which is all about actions not just words. You can read more about it here:https://lnkd.in/ddA3Myj #RaceEqualityWeek #TheBigPromise
