Every year we provide our colleagues with two volunteer days to support charities and good causes. Last month some of our HR Team decided to spend one of their days helping out at Animals in Need Northamptonshire, close to our Corby, UK office. Animals In Need is an organisation dedicated to rescuing sick, injured, trapped and distressed wild and domestic animals. We provide veterinary treatment where necessary, care for and rehabilitate animals until they can be released or re-homed. Animals In Need was set up in 1990, the aim of the organisation is alleviate suffering in animals. Tash Farquhar, VP of People - Corporate Functions & Supply Chain told us: "We talked about what we could do together as a team. We're all animal lovers, so it was an easy decision. We invited some other HR teams who support us and enjoyed a great day out. "It wasn't all playing with animals, but we got to walk the dogs, clean out the water bottles for the rabbits, clean the ferret cages, sweep up goat droppings and even clean windows. It was a great experience and amazing to be able to give back to a local organisation. "I know everyone had a good day and enjoyed the experience and definitely something we all agreed we want to do again soon." Dog walking was my favourite part! I will absolutely being go

During June, many logos around the world change to stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. Logos are a mark of distinction – they are also emblematic of an organization’s values and beliefs. At RS, the Pride logo represents the changes we want to see as an employer, the changes we want to see in our industry and the changes we want to see around the world. We’re proud that many of our partners, customers and suppliers are changing their logos too. We’ve changed our logo across our social channels based on the Pride flag devised by Morgan Carpenter, to ensure inclusivity is at the heart of the LGBT+ movement. The new design incorporates intersex people into the movement and was led by Valentino Vecchietti. It builds upon Quasar's Progress Pride Flag, which added stripes that emphasise groups within the LGBTQ+ community that often experience further marginalisation. We're looking forward to some huge events across our business and markets this month, including our sponsorship of both Dallas Pride and Corby Pride. Happy Pride Month from everybody at RS! 🌈 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
