This past week Seaboard Foods welcomed Chad Groves to his new role as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Seaboard Foods. He took over his responsibilities on July 1, succeeding retiring President and CEO Peter Brown.
In its dedication to education, Seaboard Foods has granted a total of 65 $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who will pursue certificates and degrees from technical schools, colleges and universities this upcoming fall.

Main Street Guymon, a community-led organization, awarded Seaboard Foods with the “Best Placemaking Project” for the construction of pickleball courts at Fowler Park in Guymon, Okla. at the Main Street Guymon Awards Banquet on Feb. 20.
Seaboard Foods and Oklahoma Pork Council donate Prairie Fresh Pork through the #GiveAHam Challenge Seaboard Foods donated approximately 17,500 servings of Prairie Fresh pork to northeast Oklahoma charities including Iron Gate, John 3:16 and Sand Springs Home in response to Oklahoma Pork Council’s (OPC) Give-A-Ham challenge on Tuesday, December 12th.
Seaboard Foods and CoBank awarded Beaver, Okla., Hennessey, Okla., and Elkhart, Kan., local FFA chapters $22,500 in grants for their agricultural mechanics classes. Recognizing the importance for local students to build trade skills, Seaboard Foods awarded grants to three high school agricultural education programs to purchase equipment for their agricultural mechanics classes with a matching donation by CoBank.
Educators receive grants from Seaboard Foods to support STEM education. Fifty-one educators across 26 school districts started their school year with a little extra support for their classrooms after receiving the Educators Lead Tomorrow Grant from Seaboard Foods. The company awarded $42,260 in grants to local educators in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas to support science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) projects in the classroom.
Seaboard Foods extended its gratitude to Operation BBQ Relief (OBR) for its deployment to Perryton, Texas, after the disaster relief organization served 7,250 meals to tornado survivors and first responders June 17 through 21.
Supporting its commitment to education, Seaboard Foods awarded in total $65,000 in scholarships to 65 graduating high school seniors pursuing certificates and degrees from technical schools, colleges and universities next fall.
