Last week our Marlow office opened its doors to a group of talented young minds for a special event - Bring Your Child to Work Day. Themed "Workplace of the Future," this day was all about inspiring the next generation, and children aged between 7 and 12 joined their โSoftcat Seniorsโ for a peek into the world of 21st-century work. ๐ฉโ๐ผ๐จโ๐ผ The day kicked off with a warm welcome (and snacks of course!) before our little guests got stuck into various activities designed to spark creativity and imagination, including; ๐ค Robot Challenge ๐T Shirt Design Competition ๐ฎ Softcat of the Future planning But the real magic happened when they engaged with our fantastic employees, asking questions and gaining insights into their job roles and experiences. We were blown away by the teamwork, problem-solving skills, enthusiasm and inquisitiveness of our future leaders and hope the day played a small part in igniting a spark of curiosity in the hearts of our youngest Softcat enthusiasts. We're thrilled to share the amazing efforts and initiatives our Green Team have undertaken during Plastic Free July! Throughout the month, many Softcatters made personal pledges to reduce plastic waste. Some of these pledges included switching to reusable shopping bags, bringing homemade lunches, investing in reusable coffee cups and water bottles, consuming fresh fruits and veggies to avoid pre-packaged plastic meals, creating homemade natural cleaning solutions, recycling correctly, and going completely plastic-free for the entire month! ๐๏ธ๐ฝ๏ธ๐ฅค๐ฅโป๏ธ Our team was like a well-oiled machine, actively participating in litter cleanups across urban areas in Marlow and London. Kudos to the London team for their impressive turnout in two massive group sessions! ๐๐ผ๐๏ธ Softcat is continuously working with its supply chain to measure and manage the amount of plastic used. We offer services to help reduce the amount of packaging used and ensure that packaging is recycled.

We recently celebrated our second Health and Wellbeing Week of 2023 - a regular fixture in Softcatโs corporate calendar that ensures our employees continue to thrive. The week was filled with lots of activities, lots of fun and lots of learning! This time round we introduced a new workshop, hosted by Steph Peltier, certified Mindfulness & PNT Coach, with a focus on team resilience. We also had sessions on eco-friendly eating, addictive behaviours and financial benefits for staff. On top of our range of company-wide sessions, the week was filled with activities in each office. Marlow enjoyed a sweat sesh at Leo Marlow, Leeds spent their afternoon having a good stretch followed by some health shots, and Glasgow finished their day off with a game of rounders. Thank you to our HR team and Health and Wellbeing reps who put this incredible initiative together. We have definitely come into this week feeling refreshed!

Over the past few weeks our Softcatterโs had a "pawsome" time volunteering at the Stokenchurch dog home, and helping out our furry friends! At Softcat, we believe in making a positive impact on the communities in which we operate, both through our day-to-day work and by giving back and are delighted to be able to support the Stokenchurch Dog Rescue Charity. It was a great opportunity for us to support our local community and contribute to a cause that is close to our hearts. A big thank you to the teams who took part in a range of tasks, including kennel maintenance, feeding, dog walking, grounds maintenance and gardening. This was the first volunteering activity we've done for the dog home, and we're proud to have initiated this new relationship. We look forward to supporting them in the future and hopefully seeing them at our next โSoftcat Dog Dayโ - a firm favourite in the Softcat calendar! #Softcat #Volunteering
