Globally, women are nearly three times more likely than men to experience violence from an intimate partner, and almost 10 women a day are hospitalised for assault injuries perpetrated by a spouse or domestic partner. As part of our commitment to promoting a workplace free from all forms of violence, sadly we recognise that our team may experience situations of violence or abuse which constitute family violence that may affect their attendance or performance at work. To ensure we can adequately support team members experiencing or at risk of experiencing Family & Domestic Violence, this week, we announced our new Global Family & Domestic Violence policy and Paid Leave entitlement - Providing every UpGuard team member with 10 days paid Family & Domestic Violence leave each year, irrespective of location, employee status or tenure. Other initiatives include appointing a new contact officer, internal and local resource guides, and a range of meaningful flexibility supports, all to ensure, if a team member experiences violence, the full support of UpGuard is there - if wanted.
