Integration Hall in China On August 17, around 300 VFS Global and FMC – Bailino employees attended the M&A Integration Townhall from different locations. The intent of the meeting was to introduce and on-board acquired employees into the VFS culture and business. This was followed by a 4-day virtual orientation event where the Chinese version of our HRMS was launched. The meeting was led by our COO- China, Mongolia and Hong Kong with active participation from 8 departments.

In VFS Global, we carefully chose a diverse mix of sessions addressing key women empowerment drivers such as financial independence through an (Investor Awareness Programme), leadership lessons (Emerging Women Leaders Programme) and session on emotional Resilience for manager and above female employees. This is a 4-hour high impact session developed with the help of clinical psychologists, educated participants on emotional wellbeing, understanding their own stress triggers, their manifestations, and coping mechanisms.
At VFS Global, health and wellbeing are our top priority. We constantly emphasize it through our wellness programs focusing on physical fitness, nutrition, and mental health. The COVID situation turns better with less than 30 risk areas reported as of end of May, and lockdown in cities have been lift. With business resuming, serval actions were tacking in region by local HR/Admin as to keep health and safety of all staff, including the sanitization, preparation of PPE, and protection measures tracking as per government requirements.
During the outbreak of COVID where cities were lockdown, employees from different other cities voluntarily joined the initiatives to support physically and mentally for colleagues who were locked at home, helping to purchase living materials and arranging online fitness activities. On May 20 and 31, virtual townhalls were held in Beijing and Shanghai respectively, in China region. The Senior Management led by COO Anil and more than 20 senior managers from China region joined the meeting. CHR Nirbhik Goel and Regional Group coo Jiten Vyas participated as well. The team shared experience during the lockdown, including the achievement, the most challenge faced, and demonstrated strong will for the restart.
To celebrate Mother’s Day, in the month of May, around 65 employees in China who are mothers received small gifts to honour the existence of mothers and their significance in people's lives. Videos were also recorded by women employees while preparing their favourite recipe and shared with each other.
Since the launch of Zero Waste Policy providing guideline to increase energy-saving publicity and enhance employee’s sense, serval practices have been initiated as to create the environmental friendly office. Succulent plants were gifted to employees, and we encouraged employees to bring them, either in office premises or at home, and asked them to track the progress with feedback. Also, utmost attention to energy saving is payed and those practices are supported from Admin standpoint. To start with small things like saving very drop of water, judiciously using electricity that turn on the lights only when required, and turning off the lights, air conditions and other electrical appliances before leaving work for the day. Meanwhile, wastepaper recycling boxes are set up to recycle paper, and recycled papers are used printing, business cards etc. At the same time, we vigorously advocate the cleaning and maintenance of old equipment's to extend the service life, encouraging all our staff to participate whole heartedly towards developing it into a good practice.
