We are extremely excited to announce that our HR department was recently recognized as one of the 'HR Departments of the Year' for their tireless work of keeping our employees, pet owners, and their animals safe during COVID-19. We were honored as part of a talented, passionate group of companies who put people first when our whole world changed earlier this year! Since March, we have: -Started an employee assistance fund which raised over $119,000 to benefit VPP employees and families experiencing difficulties as a result of COVID-19; -Implemented an HR COVID-19 hotline to guide our partner hospitals through dealing with potential COVID cases, as well as an internal COVID resource site to keep employees informed and safe; -Facilitated a 99% return to work rate, and 4% COVID positive rate in a customer-facing industry without the capability for remote work. Our commitment to our people and the companion animals they serve has always been front and center for us, and we shout it proudly through our core values: "We believe in investing in our people. They are our best asset."
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Latasha McCraken to the Hiram Animal Hospital by liking this post! Dr. Latasha McCraken is an Associate Veterinarian at Hiram Animal Hospital. She graduated from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2016, and was inspired to become a veterinarian after working with animals at her local animal shelter. Originally from California, Dr. McCraken currently resides in Douglasville, GA with her English Springer Spaniel, Hachi. When she is not providing quality veterinary care, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and hiking. A fun fact about Dr. McCraken is that she considers herself adventurous, and has even traveled to Iceland!
