The Virginia Asset Management Annual Meeting was held on February 15 at the Lynn Theatre at John Tyler Community College. We were fortunate to have a number of guest speakers join us, including Amy Singleton, Brandon Butterworth, and Molly Bittner with The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central Virginia. In addition, Mike Beall, Executive Vice President of Davenport, LLC, offered his firm’s economic outlook for 2018.
Virginia Asset Management has merged with Chancery Advisory Concepts. The firms will operate as Virginia Asset Management going forward. Chancery Advisory Concepts is led by F. Gibbons Sloan and Matthew Hale. Sloan and Hale built their wealth management operation over the past 10 years. Virginia Asset Management has a specialization in consulting with businesses in central Virginia, specifically in matters related to qualified plans, business-owner succession strategies, employee wellness and financial education, and wealth management. Sloan and Hale have built Chancery with the same philosophy, so the merger brings together two teams of like-minded professionals. “Gib and Matt have built a strong reputation for their firm in Richmond and beyond. With Virginia Asset Management’s desire to continue to expand into the employee wellness market, joining forces with Chancery is a perfect fit. We are excited about this merger and are confident that we can continue to bring outstanding support to clients throughout our geographic footprint.” said Mike White, President/CEO.

This coming March, the VAM team will be participating in the 15th Annual Monument Avenue 10k. The race is the fourth largest in the world and runs along Richmond's historic Monument Avenue. We are excited to be a part of this world class event, as we burn through our cold Virginia winter and ring in spring together!
