This was more than just a build 💛 We were honoured to take part in the DIY SOS x BBC Children in Need build, supporting the creation of a new wing for The Joshua Tree. The Joshua Tree offers tailored support to families affected by childhood cancer – supporting the whole family throughout the entire cancer journey. From emotional wellbeing to practical guidance and therapeutic programmes, their work provides vital stability and care during incredibly challenging times. This new wing will enable The Joshua Tree to extend their services and reach even more families who need safe spaces, connection, and support. A huge thank you to our team who took part in the project, and a special mention to Darren Lewis and Michael Mosedale, who worked around the clock to fit five kitchens in under 24 hours. If you’d like to contribute, head over to our LinkedIn page to see how you can donate to Children in Need.

A new era dawns for the team in Greenwich as our purpose-built Head Office officially opened its doors. After months of hard work, led by Project Manager, Dave Kneisel, and New Store Construction SVP, Darren Crookes, the team are making themselves at home in their new surroundings. At 8,000 sq ft it’s nearly four times bigger than the old office, with space for 65 desks. Although only 15 people have moved in so far, the team is growing rapidly and we expect to see the office filling up quickly. The light and airy space includes a large canteen, six meeting rooms, a server room, storage area, executive offices with modern glass partitions, and a large boardroom with a spectacular view of the nearby water. The original moving date was April 1st, but when the date was brought forward by just over a week, the team worked around the clock to make sure everything was ready in time. Everybody packed up their desks and temporarily moved to Milford so the movers could take everything from the old office to the new with minimal disruption. Luckily, the new office is just down the road from the old location, making life easier for Dave, Darren and the team. The IT team then came in to get everything connected and make sure it was a smooth transition for the everybody on the first day. Dave said of the space: “It’s completely custom, we did everything so it really feels like Wren. The layout has been well thought out and makes for a good work environment.”

Since joining us in 2020 as a Kitchen Designer, Fabiana Rodriguez’s career has flourished She came up through the ranks to Mobile Operations Manager and now looks after a team of 10 mobile designers. Her years of experience have made her an important part of our development in the US. We asked Fabiana what makes Wren a special place to work. “The opportunity to be involved in different fields. Staff are exposed to different departments, enhancing their skills and putting them in positions where they can use those skills. It was fun to have that exposure of the business as we developed.” Any words of advice for someone looking to progress with Wren? “Get involved and expose yourself to new areas. Being willing to help the team and company grow opened doors for me and created relationships. It allowed me to excel and progress.” How do you encourage your team to take the next step in their careers? “I try to share with them as much as possible and make sure we give them the skills they need to progress.” What’s the favorite part of your day? “It makes me happy to see people succeed – the excitement and happiness when they call to say, ‘we got the sale’!” And what does the future hold for Fabiana and her team? “I’m hoping to grow the department into something bigger and develop the team. “Personally, I have a baby on the way so I’m looking forward to the change. We call him The Little Wren Baby! “Wren has done a lot for my family, it has changed my life really."
