Landing a career in technology isn’t just about your educational background. In fact, employers want to see examples of where you are developing your technical knowledge in your own time. This demonstrates your passion and sets you apart from the competition. Here are my top tips for developing your technical skills and how you can include them on your CV: 1) Find podcasts, blogs, and YouTube channels focused on tech. Whether you’re on the bus or relaxing at home, using these platforms can help you learn valuable skills. It’s also great to include these in the hobbies section of your CV. 2) Build a Github and contribute to open source projects suitable for your skill levels. 3) See what free online courses exist – check out Udemy, Codeacademy and Pluralsight. 4) Take part in technical challenges. Hackathons are great and can help you improve your ability to work in a team. 5) If you have completed any coding projects, go back over them and keep improving them- it’s a great example to use in interviews for self-development and improvement. Good Luck!
