Grader Job Description

What is a Grader?

Graders are evaluators who review and grade academic assignments, projects, and exams. They prepare exams, quizzes, and other materials. They establish or apply the grading standards and structure. They may grade materials by hand or use an electronic assessment and grading program. They evaluate essays, term papers, and other writing assignments and may provide detailed feedback. They sometimes also serve as teaching assistants and provide other support services to assist the instructor or help students. They compile and maintain grading records.

Graders are often current graduate students with specialized education or training in the subject area they are grading. They commonly must have completed a specific course or program and have achieved at least a certain grade or ranking. They must be organized and detail oriented.
