Interviewed with this agency in mid 2009 with some serious concerns that I hope will help someone out if they are in a similar situation. The main HR contact was not very punctual with the initial phone interview and was extremely difficult in overall communication. Emails unanswered and then answered down the road after the fact…a call here and there with several rounds of phone tag, etc. Finally after speaking to this HR person by phone, it was very apparent that they did not review my resume and was an awkward phone call in really having an opportunity for them to understand my background and experience. Was quickly invited to meet with several key people 1:1 for the position I was applying for.
When I arrived, I could not but help notice that this particular agency was heavily skewed towards one particular gender and seemed a bit chaotic while I waited…and waited and waited. Finally had my interview (20 mins late) with two people and was one of those interviews that was unorganized and pointless (after the fact). Just seemed that they really did not do their homework, did not know what they were looking for and really understood what the client was looking for. There is also another issue that happened after the interview that I will not relate here, but added to the fact that this company does not treat prospective candidates with respect to their time. I understand that not every job interview goes smoothly or every company is a perfect match, but after this process with Moxie, I honestly would not have moved forward with a second interview as you really can get a good feel for a company in the interview process.
Small update: After I interviewed there, I had a few conversations with other job seekers that also experienced the same kind of process and they were also alarmed over how unorganized the process was. I think from my end it was very beneficial to see their office, environment and interview process first hand to ultimately make a decision that I would not be pursing a career with Moxie and hope this was a one time issue.
