      Pros

The bonus pay is great, and most of my co-workers were awesome.

      Cons

Long hours, abusive management, low base pay, frequent injuries, and defective equipment.

      Pros

Easy to be hired straight out of your EMT program, Multiple types of positions nationwide (911/IFT), yearly bonuses (not much tho), easy to transfer anywhere in the country, opportunities for deployment when necessary (FEMA, etc.)

      Cons

This company is a huge corporation and it shows. They hire anyone and rarely truly fire someone. A lot of their management was just whoever was desperate enough to want the job but wasn't actually qualified so there is so much disconnect and mismanagement. They do not care about you. I have worked here for five years and hated almost all of it. It is a good starting point but one of those places that if you stay, you get stuck and its miserable because everyone is miserable. EVERYONE.

      Pros

National company and easy to transfer, easy to pick up over time that can come with bonuses and extra pay

      Cons

The pay is not great for EMTs, but room for advancement

      Good people but inconsistent

      Pros

I’ve worked at AMR for quite a while and the Sup’s are overall kind people who are trying the best they can to help the crews.

      Cons

Staffing is a nightmare and their hands are tied by GMR in a lot of ways. No night shift differential, no bonuses for extra shifts, just a lot of pleading emails to cover shifts.

AMR will not pay out your sign on bonus, will make work life balance impossible, and will pay you peanuts without thanks

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Love the work itself, responding to 911 calls, helping people, and my colleagues.

      Cons

Management is uncaring, often disrespectful, and will push you to work 36 hours+ without sleep because of understaffing. Say goodbye to your family life and health. I've spoken to several people who did not get paid their sign on bonuses or had to fight for partial payment. Don't let the lure you into coming out here, it seems to be a nice bait and switch tactic. This is a high cost of living area and a very underpaid job.
