Cons
Awful audit quality, gossipy culture, political promotions, poor salary compared to both larger and smaller firms
Pros
Job has a great balance of work to personal life with a great working culture of trust and balance. The range of work you get is great to grow and experience
Cons
The Financial Compensation is below market average and unless you are in a senior role where the salary is significantly higher and additional work perks are provided, junior roles do not get sufficient salary or any additional benefits such as private medical cover and other perks that competing firms provide
Pros
The working environment is not very good, you are subjected to mobbing by some managers, you work a lot of overtime and when the wage at the end of the month is calculated, your hourly wage corresponds to half of the minimum wage. There is a policy of too much work but too little salary.
Cons
We don't perform a materiality level audit above PM like Big4, we review all accounts above CTT balances. This means much more workload than other audit firms. But we learn auditing better. However, I don't think such a workload is necessary. Nonsense!
Pros
Company activities are fun, encourage staff to be active and socialize beyond work. ppl are nice, less work politic.
Cons
no work life balance, salary slight lower as compared to other firms in the industry
Pros
Flexible working, decent salary, paid overtime up to Manager level, good progression
Cons
No bonus, can be long hours (expected with audit)
Pros
Good culture and good pay
Cons
Bad hours in busy season
Pros
- Dress for your day - WFH - flexible with an allowable 2 days/week after passing probation (ask the partner not senior management to WFH though for one specific team if needed for an appointment before probation). - Some of the jobs are interesting - luck of the draw if you get to work on them though. - Social club is decent. - The 3 partners are friendly and approachable enough. - For the sake of protecting identities, we'll call all assistant managers, managers and senior managers just 'managers' - some of the managers are knowledgeable, approachable and good mentors. You only get to work with the ones in your team, though - and there are 3 main teams in Business Services.
Cons
- There's not a lot of work in certain teams and staff are disallowed from getting work from other, busier, teams. - The pay is low for lower staff levels, compared to other mid-tiers. - A certain manager monitors timesheets and micromanages all younger staff in their team, making the environment stressful and unpleasant to work in. - This manager also takes a minimum of 2 months to review jobs, even simple ones, which is incomparable to other managers taking only a few days to review difficult jobs. This would be fine if they then didn't ask that review points be cleared urgently the day they send it back after 2 whole months. It also makes it harder to stick to budget as staff then have to remind themselves what the job entailed since it's been a long time since last looking at the work. - That same manager also carries a passive aggressive tone, whether in person, teams or in email. Their pointed tone makes them extremely unapproachable and evokes anxiety in staff when we have to speak to them. This sentiment is held by lots of staff within this specific team. There are multiple assistant managers, managers and senior managers throughout the 3 teams, but once you join the firm and if you end up on this one team, it'll be pretty clear to see which one manager this review is referring to.
