What is the hiring process like at Cintas?

      Cintas reviews

      Very Corporate Company

      Special operations coordinator
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      • Offer prizes, raffles, food/beverages, incentives to come to work on time • There is no hovering, as long as you meet quotas it doesn’t matter when or how

      Cons

      • Offer very limited PTO/Sick leave, I think I got about 5 days for almost an entire year • Strict on dress code, have been coded at least 2-3 times even though we do not interact with clients • WFH days are treated as a gift, when I personally believe they should be the norm as our job is solely computer based. • Feel as though when we do talk aloud to coworkers it is discouraged • Unpaid Vacation request was denied with 5 months notice, was told this company just doesn’t do anything like that • Automatic enrollment into 401K- not everyone wants to enroll or contribute the amount that Cintas designates for you • Had to do 3 interviews for their hiring process, which is ridiculous for how low the pay is

      Head Warning

      Accounts receivable specialist
      Current employee

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great health benefits , Mon-Fri schedule, flexibility to have hybrid schedule

      Cons

The company is not honest in their hiring process. They like to pull the bait and switch. The responsibilities for one rep is too much and goals/metrics are not obtainable. High turnover.

      Cons

Interview process was a bit lengthy.

      Pros

Good culture, stock contributions (free stock!), low cost but good health insurance, competitive pay, resume builder, thorough interview process

      Cons

MT program requires more physical labor, long interview process (but also a pro), hard to get fired here.

Lengthy interview process and training requirements

      Service manager
      Former employee

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Employees and staff were all very welcoming. Safety culture is 100% across the board. Many long-term employees are dedicated to their jobs. Company is showing amazing growth.

      Cons

The interview and onboarding process was slow and time-consuming. The first interview was over 2 hours. Waited over a week for the next interview, again almost two hours, and was not informed it would include two separate processes. The third interview was scheduled via Zoom at the office. There also is a fourth interview, but that portion was waved. From my last interview to my first day was almost a month. I was told it was a formality and they just needed to prepare. They also stressed I would probably want additional time off as a "break". I was currently unemployed at the time so I did not need a break. My start date continued to be pushed back with the reason of my background check had not cleared yet. However, with the background check you can follow the progress so I could see that it had cleared. Finally, I started and after asking repeatedly what the training schedule would be like, I was provided the information. 12 weeks of training, with 4 weeks performing ridealongs 3x a week. It was not what I had been hired to do. I can see both sides of this as it is important to gain a full understanding of the company and how it works, however, I was not applying to perform manual labor and physically could not make it through the training requirements. I also got the impression through my first week of training that schedules were not consistent. People were working very long hours to try and catch up on the workload. I just felt overall the information provided during the interview process and onboarding did not match up with what was actually occurring once hired.

      Pros

Ability to change jobs without changing your business card and relocation to just about anywhere

      Cons

Hiring process takes forever and many steps. Micromanaging sales managers where not everyone who was good at sales should be in a leadership role.

Great work life balance a ton of room for growth

First aid & safety service sales representative
      Current employee

      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Interview process was night and day compared to prior location I had interviewed with. Great benefits, solid support, and an awesome culture. Leadership leads by example, setting the tone from the top (GM). Can't speak for other location, but I was fortunate to land at one of the best. No micromanagement! Professionalism and integrity are a must. Constant promotions.

      Cons

No real downsides except for the Florida heat, with only a bit of corporate politics but nothing too crazy.

      Worst experience of my life

      Reliability engineer
      Former employee
      New Orleans, LA

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Medical benefit options, stocks, usually off on holidays.

      Cons

Lengthy interview process followed by a very limited relocation package. The role requires extensive travel, leaving you home only a few days each month. This was the most controlling and micromanaged work environment I have experienced. Management exercised extreme oversight of daily work, including constant monitoring, mandatory attendance in your meetings for “visibility,” heavy interrogations about what you said during your mandatory and supposedly private feedback sessions with HR or directors, and frequent one-on-one sessions focused primarily on criticism rather than development. Boundaries between personal time and work time were not respected, and public humiliation was used as a management tactic. Interaction with peers was actively discouraged. Autonomy was effectively nonexistent, and the role functioned more as an extension of management rather than an independent professional position. Advancement or trust appeared contingent on total personal alignment with leadership rather than performance or expertise. The culture strongly expects the job to become your entire life. Any indication that family or personal commitments take priority places you outside the inner circle. The position appears structured to absorb blame and shield leadership when projects or initiatives fail, rather than to empower success. There were repeated instances of intrusive behavior, including pressure to disclose private personal information and excessive monitoring outside of normal working hours. Travel policies were restrictive and enforced in ways that limited independence and created unnecessary stress. Schedules were subject to frequent last-minute changes, making basic personal logistics difficult to manage. The vehicle program was presented as a benefit but operated more as a mechanism for control. Personal use, routine expenses, and travel behavior were closely scrutinized despite the vehicle being partially employee-funded. Last-minute travel demands were common, often requiring long drives on short notice. Expressing hesitation or concern was not well received. Overall, the environment was characterized by constant criticism, accusations, and a complete lack of trust. Although described as a hybrid role, flexibility for WFH was not supported. Finally, this is not a true reliability role. Much of the work does not involve reliability engineering, data analysis, RCM, or coaching maintenance teams. Instead, responsibilities focus on surface-level inspections and non-technical tasks, with limited opportunity to practice or develop core reliability competencies.
