Does Equitable Advisors have any sort of mentoring program?

      Equitable Advisors reviews

      Good place

      Financial advisor
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good mentorship, good work environment with people who actually care about the job (unlike other branches or companies)

      Cons

Inconsistent pay, you have to work hard to get rewarded so I get it's not for everyone.

      Great potential but major grind

      Financial advisor
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The autonomy and flexibility is awesome, paired with high earning potential. Pretty good training and mentoring opportunities, but the same opportunities aren't offered to all new advisors.

      Cons

It was not clear that there is no real base salary, only an upfronting of commissions. Even that is low. Meanwhile, there is no flexibility or accommodations to be made if you can't hit the expected numbers, and if you don't hit said number at the end of a quarter, you'll be out of a job. It's perform or don't work here. Be prepared to make cold calls.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      Good environment and great mentorship

      Cons

Almost all commissions and doesn’t offer leads

      Incredible Upside

      Financial advisor
      Current employee

      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Survive and thrive. Do you own your book or does your employer own you? This company has an incredible culture, great training program and everyone seems willing to help. This career path is not for the faint of heart. Commission based. It’s what you make of the opportunity.

      Cons

A focus on commission but again if you’re willing to work you should want a commission based opportunity because you are in control. Not the employer.

      Lack of Guidance

      Financial advisor
      Former employee
      Woodbury, NY
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Freedom of schedule and ability to grow your business and prospect any way you choose.

      Cons

You are told you'll be joining a team with great coaching, but their advisor model for trainees is to churn and burn. They have associates call terrible leads and the managers are not supportive enough to truly coach and develop an advisor who wants to be a serious professional.
