      Business Outlook

      Pros

Sadly there are none, at from what I can tell after 2 years.

      Cons

No full time positions, no employee discount, the company also does not pay time and a half for federal holidays, no Christmas bonus either, in fact zero bonuses unless you're a store manager or assistant store manager. The company expects a great deal from employees with little or no incentives in return except for the paycheck itself.

      Its a job

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Decent pay, PTO was good and annual bonus was good

      Cons

No work life balance, scheduled to work 60+ hours every week with no OT

Potential for Career but easy to get stuck

      Department manager
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Work is straightforward, even as a manager. Schedule can be flexible depending on your team. Culture is based fairly in-store, but the corp. culture intends for positivity. Good benefits.

      Cons

Pay is on lower end of retail jobs in the same industry, often even having part-time/full time associates in other stores out-performing managers at Food Lion. Very easy to get throttled in position due to lack of movement or corporate working with you to further your career. Especially in small-town areas, you will be met with a lot of resistance to moving up, whether it's to another store or locally.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      Cons

No benefits Working 40 hours but being classified as part time so no health insurance 5 cent raises every year 12 hours worth of work in 8 hours or less Corporate abuses retail level associates with cut hours as they have no idea how grocery stores actually run

      Good luck

      Pricing analyst
      Former employee
      Salisbury, NC
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

-Decent benefits -Efforts are made to take care of employees by senior leadership (VP)

      Cons

-Expected to teach yourself nearly everything in this role as training is inadequate and there is an overall lack of organization of processes at Food Lion -Outdated systems and leadership styles -Responsibilities are constantly changing / teams shifting -Only one opportunity per year to get promoted vertically -Hybrid model, yet much of your schedule is dictated week to week by in-person meetings/trainings -Hard nosed approach from leadership to associates -Culture needs serious work
