What is the hiring process like at Food Lion?

The work was simple and not challenging

After a week of working there I was left to run the deli alone and when someone did come it was a new hire I was expecting to train

Impactful project, smooth onboarding process

Lacking support from management and team

Mostly good co-workers, decent managers.

Managers can be very clique-y, which makes for a terrible environment. Pay for employees that have been with the company are not brought up to the new hiring salaries,

They have some good systems and some good managers

Constantly squeezing what they can out of employees with skeleton crews instead of hiring enough people

The people you work with and even the customers are nice to be around. The work itself isn't too demanding, and honestly once you get in the groove it can be fun.

The current deli manager is an absolute snake in the grass. She treats you nice to your face, but if you don't work like a horse on meth she'll give you less and less hours till you quit. She'll lie and say "we just don't have enough hours" then hire two new people to replace you. Don't even try working here if you're disabled in any way. You'll get pushed out faster than a wet dog in a nice house.
