Pros
Gojek has a flat culture, hot desking model which allow employees to cross pollenate ideas. Benefits are decent but biggest callout would be our unlimited leave system which takes the stress of having enough annual leaves, especially for employees that are parents.
Cons
Gojek management has very unrealistic expectations of businesses and individuals. Targets are typically from a top-down approach without much consideration of market conditions such as competitors, share of wallet or realistic YoY growth.
Individuals are just thrown into tasks or initiatives which requires either a level of technical knowledge or requires some time or experience in the tasks to understand what's going on, but not equipped with the right skills and are expected to adapt near instantaneously.
Gojek also has very bad product support. Insufficient tech resources are provided to support the team to even improve basic product experience. The organization is only focused on providing tech resources for revenue generating initiatives but not on ensuring a strong product experience for users such as fixing bad product experiences or glitches. The organization in order to reduce cost, doesn't provide bare minimal applications or licenses (e.g. MS Office) even when it's core for the role and doesn't provide proper system support for core operations such as data integration with payments systems. Heavy reliance in Google docs and Google sheets, manual pulling data from different sets of databases and manual reconciliation of data, resulting in high human error rate and ridiculous amount of time/effort taxed to the employee.
