      Pros

Since I've joined Gong, through the recruiting experience to now it's been nothing but positivity, engagement and teamwork. I truly have felt welcomed throughout being here and feel the culture fit. Gong has some really smart and respectful employees with effective communication and planning skills. The People team is truly a special group - there's a sense of prioritization, respecting needs of one another and collective interest in ensuring the right work is being done at the right time. In addition to dedication to quality work, there are opportunities and space to build trust and connection with each other. The quarterly recharge days (2 days every quarter) are a benefit that are an awesome way to let employees rest and refresh themselves. I've noticed that there's intention to care about employee's well being but I see that in action with gathering feedback, administering wellness sessions and providing benefits to promote well being. Diversity is definitely seen throughout the team among leadership as well as team members, and an emphasis on ensuring that improves over time. There is definitely a culture of feedback and listening that I see, with teams sending over appreciation and recognition in meetings, messages, and celebrating wins. I'm truly impressed with the team here and feel very fortunate to be a part of this amazing team.

      Cons

There is a lot of appetite for work to be done, with smaller teams in my space which doesn't leave a lot of room for ad hoc items to work on. There can be unexpected work that can come up so needing to balance and set the right boundaries + prioritizing is important to be successful here. However there's respect among the teams that allow for this - it just needs to be practiced and communicated.

      Pros

Innovative Product: Gong’s platform is a game-changer in revenue intelligence, making it a leader in its field. Collaborative Environment: The culture promotes teamwork and knowledge-sharing, making it easy to grow and learn from colleagues. Great Leadership: Management genuinely cares about employee growth, frequently offering career development opportunities and support. Work-Life Balance: There’s a strong emphasis on work-life balance, with flexibility around remote work and personal time off. Competitive Compensation: Salaries and benefits are above industry average, with great perks and incentives. Strong Values: The company’s commitment to transparency, diversity, and inclusion is evident in every aspect of the business.

      Cons

Fast-Paced Growth: While the rapid growth is exciting, it can sometimes lead to challenges in keeping up with processes and changes. Cross-team Communication: In a large organization, communication across departments can be tricky at times, requiring extra effort to stay aligned. Workload Peaks: During peak periods, workloads can be heavy, and burnout may become a concern if not managed properly.

      Pros

Great travel and lunch perks. Really welcoming and supportive culture. Leadership is very approachable, motivating and truly uphold the "no hierarchy" element of Gong. Career advancement is very fast too compared to other companies. Overall a great group of people selling a great product

      Cons

Like any sales jobs, there is a degree of pressure to hit goals, but leadership is always very understanding and helpful

Great Product, Toxic Culture - Leadership Issues Make It a Hard Place to Stay

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      * Gong has an amazing product that delivers real value to customers. * Some smart, passionate individual contributors doing their best despite the environment. * Brand recognition is strong in the sales tech space.

      Cons

Toxic, blame shifting culture: Leadership is not transparent, and bad behavior is tolerated at the top. Lack of leadership accountability: The VP of Enablement avoided conflict, failed to define roles, and let dysfunction fester across old and new team members. No swimlanes: No clear expectations for who owns what, leading to chaos and burnout. Churn-and-burn sales culture: Sales is purely about hitting your number, with no focus on developing talent or supporting reps long term. High turnover: So many talented people left because they were set up to fail. Disappointing leadership: Poor management alignment across Sales, Enablement, and Ops, and no support for building a sustainable culture.

In Sales? Think Twice Before Joining

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The product is great and has relatively superior functionality compared to competitors. Co-Founders and original upper leadership are genuinely nice people.

      Cons

Competitors are quickly catching up to features that separated Gong from the market a few years ago. When prospects try to balance cost and value, it is becoming increasingly harder to sell with confidence without feeling like a used car salesman having to constantly justify to prospects why are we often cost 2-3x more than competitors who can offer 90% of what Gong does. If you are reading this review and going through the interview process I strongly encourage you to really research and vet out who you will be reporting to. I have worked at startups and large publicly traded companies: Gong, without a doubt, is the most hostile environment I have been part of. Once you make it to Mid-Market there are very few career opportunities available to you. No one wants to advance to the Enterprise segment as the team has never come close to hitting quota and churns through reps faster than customers churning on Gong. Top performers and culture leaders just disappear in the middle of the night with every quarter end. Sales Leadership acts as if we are all blind and ignorant to when people leave the team, instead, they continue to sell everyone on this concept that "things will be ok, because we're the best." Last thing I'll mention as a sales rep at Gong, our leaders don't even use our own technology. The amount of manual busy work thrown on reps, often last second requests, is endless. Which is ironic because we're supposed to be "revolutionizing" the way sales operates yet our own leaders do not practice what we preach.

Thank you for your candid feedback and for recognizing the strengths of our product and the positive impact of our Co-Founders; however, reading your feedback about the challenges in the sales environment and your concerns about leadership and culture was difficult. We understand that selling with confidence is crucial, and we’re always looking for ways to refine our approach so our product continues to lead the market in meaningful ways. One Gong many careers is a top priority for us, and we are continuously working to create clearer paths for growth and advancement. I honestly don't see many cons, there can be challenges to be able to sync with coworkers in different cities and countries, but the company is well established to support a hybrid/remote work environment.
