      The worst corporate environment ever

      Pros

The only Pro is that working here has given me the ability in spotting red flags in a company I’m interviewing for right away.

      Cons

The worst corporate environment you can imagine, The CEO’s are 2 kids seeking validation and approval from their parents, running around with their heads cut off and egos flailing. Some of the leaders here are literally immature children, trying to feel important and special. There is no cohesion in this company. No loyalty to their people. So many leaders have left because of the horrible working conditions stress micro managing and pressure. The company is constantly hiring new roles WHILE doing layoffs. How deaf can you be. Their main office is in Miami, so given that you can expect a pretty pretentious and snobby group of people that work there. I consider this to be the worst place I’ve worked at. Did I mention the company was remote and they forced everyone to go back to office to meet their quotes for the office buildings? I wouldn’t touch this company with a 10 ft pole.

      Pros

Let's move onto the next question.

      Cons

Gopuff will lie for their own benefit; I took this job at the start of December 2021 where THREE individual members of staff all confirmed that I would work one weekend in, one weekend off, allowing me ample time to visit my Father who was terminally ill at the time. I started my career after taking the offer, only to notice for months upon months, I was scheduled to work every single weekend. Bringing this up during my probationary period only got me to apparently not being "committed to the job" so I decided to hush-lip until I passed probation. Still, I worked every single weekend. This was not the promise made by 3 different people. Bringing it up again, I was then told that this was a lie told to people over Christmas to obtain more staff for their busy periods and they had no intention on keeping this promise. During my entire career with Gopuff, from literal day zero, I had a disability agreement in place, again overheard by 3 members of staff during every interview process. All of a sudden, two years later, there was suddenly no evidence of this conversation and my disability arrangement could no longer be upheld. I was told the only way in which this would be upheld is if I could prove my disability through NHS medical reports or if I went through Occupational Health, POTENTIALLY insinuating that I'm lying about something that affects my every single day-to-day life. None of my own personal experience even begins to tap into actual work there, part and parcel is speaking to colleagues on other channels who don't answer half of the time, bearing in mind that a customer will be live on Live Chat sending you "hello?", "???", etc, and we can't tell them a single thing because it's not often we got any answers, leading to us having to deal with the upset and only ever being able to apologise. Not a good look from a customer's point-of-view. Nothing but stressful, I will never be back. Good luck, Gopuff.

      Pros

Great team mentality and collaboration with other GMs Exciting things happening all the time Transparent results to evaluate business positives and opportunities

      Cons

Quality of work experience is mostly dependant on having a solid manager, not a great interview process to evaluate quality of leaders coming into the organization

      Pros

      - Lots of opportunities to grow - Great managers and engineers to work with - Flexible time off - Good bonus compensation - Pay half of benefit premiums for insurance. But that can be applied to all members of family. Such that I'm not having to pay 100% out of pocket for all the other members.

      Cons

      - Since 2022, there have been a number of layoffs. And starting in 2023, they transitioned to leveraging 1 star ratings in the performance review process as a mechanism for letting a certain number of people go without freaking everyone else out. - They say we are ruthlessly prioritizing projects to be completed during milestones for months now. But it feels like that hasn't changed. - Lots of milestone injections occur

      Pros

      Flexibility, no cap on hours

      Cons

There has to be a team dedicated to finding ways to pay us less. When I started, the were weekly bonuses based on number of weekly deliveries, which was great. That's gone. There is wait pay for shifts, though not all locations offer shifts anymore, so no wait pay even though there is lots of waiting sometimes. The BASE PAY IS A JOKE NOW. It used to be reasonable, considering that most runs take 20-45 minutes depending on how many stops you have and how far you have to travel (which the distance keeps increasing). A long run used to be 10 or 11 minutes. Base pay used to be somewhere between $4, for something really close, to about $10-12 for something 10 or so minutes away. Then, they went up a few dollars when the distance increased closer to 20 minutes away when going that far was new. Now, base pay, all of a sudden no less, is $1.75-$2.25 on average. Even if you have 5 bags to deliver to different addresses. They used to use tips the customers paid to at least get us to an average amount of money per run, but they don't even do that anymore. A lot of people don't tip, so now you might run 3-5 bags for $2.25! You are spending more money on gas half of the time to deliver. When they went up a dollar on the delivery fee, they paid drivers less. The company also have this weird culture of wanting divisiveness between the warehouse packers and the drivers. It is like it is in their training that this is not a team effort. I could go on and on. This used to be a great company to contact for. I was able to pay my household bills with GoPuff during the pandemic. Now they are making you work harder and harder for $100. You used to be able to count on a couple hundred dollars if you gave 10-12 hours of your time. It was worthwhile. Now, you are lucky to break $100 in 10 hours. And that is with twice the wear and tear on your vehicle. And the support you can interact with is incapable of helping with anything. The ones that make the decisions can't be spoken to or chatted with directly. Everything is really chat now. If you manage to get the driver support number, they'll just send you to chat never never land where nothing is actually solved. If you have a few hours to kil and need like $20 for gas, this is the app for you. But they've partnered with Uber eats and pay the Uber eats drivers more to deliver. I know because I have gotten GoPuff orders through Uber eats as a driver as well. This used to be one of my favorite gig jobs, but now they really suck because they have now become the worst of the corporate capitalist machine.

Easy work, easy to clock in fulfill orders and clock back out. No uniform. No direct contact with customers. Can put headphones in and ignore everything but the work.

      Cons

Impossible to communicate with upper management. You're the face drivers complain to about everything. Sometimes it was dangerous. Poorly prepared for emergencies.
