How is management perceived at IGATE?

Pros

Some nice people who work there.

Cons

Management is awful. The two directors have no idea about how to manage people (one inherited the company, the other was her mate with no experience). They do not trust their employees and spend a lot of time sending passive-aggressive emails rather than having a conversation - they will tell you one thing, then follow it up with the opposite sentiment, scolding the entire office. There is no career development or even care what the staff are feeling. In all the years i worked there, there was not one meeting about anything, even when the fee-earner you were working for changed! We had 5 minute tick-box exercise as our review which was a joke. One director was actively spiteful, going out of her way to be mean-spirited to everyone. She went through a secretary a year due to her bullying behaviour. They pull people up for being 1 minute late, but expect you to work over your lunch if i client is still around. There is no office culture, because everyone spends all their time bemoaning about how awful it is to work there, but for some reason noone leaves - its like banging your head against a wall. People rarely go to the xmas do, for example. The management is also incompetent within their field and rely on the secretaries to "get rid" of paying clients because they do not know the technical details to answer questions. This lead to loads of upset clients who knew they were getting fobbed off. Management get longer lunch than the rest of the staff, drive massive fancy cars and leave early on Fridays to get their hair done, have company mobile phones which they dont use for work, while the staff get nothing. The heating didnt work, and was never fixed, so everyone was freezing in the winter. A toxic environment filled with people who are happy to be walked all over. Very sad.

Advice to Management

Stop bullying your employees. Go on a management training course. Read some books around the subject too. Trust your employees to do a good job. Open up communication.
