      Cons

Everything- Over the past months, I have dedicated myself to ensuring timely and safe deliveries, often under challenging circumstances. However, several persistent issues have made it increasingly difficult to continue in this role. Workload and Scheduling: The unpredictable schedules and frequent last-minute route changes have made it challenging to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Although the job may appear to be within a standard work week, the reality is that I’m putting in closer to 60 hours a week when you factor in the unpaid time spent maintaining and managing the company vehicle assigned to me. This includes everything from car washes (out of pocket) to oil changes to handling mechanical issues, towing, and arranging rentals— all of which is necessary to keep things running, yet completely uncompensated. Management and Support: While my immediate supervisor was fair and demonstrated actual leadership, there has been a noticeable lack of support from middle and upper management. Concerns raised about vehicle maintenance, route planning, and workload distribution often go unaddressed. Additionally, the training provided was minimal, leaving many to navigate complex procedures without adequate guidance. It’s more like a marketing presentation than any type of actual skill training in my observation. Compensation and Benefits: While the provision of a company vehicle appears to be a benefit, you are charging employees to be your fleet managers. In general, the overall compensation does not reflect the demands and responsibilities of the role and it’s clear that the company preys on older individuals whom they can exploit for low wages and free vehicle maintenance. The pay, what little there is, remains stagnant with limited opportunities for advancement or recognition while the CEO’s and shareholders enjoy ever greater bonuses and dividends year by year. Work Environment: The work environment is unsupportive. Instances of favoritism and inconsistent enforcement of policies have contributed to a sense of inequity among staff. I would like to be able to say I have valued the opportunity to serve in this capacity and am grateful for the experiences gained, however, working here has been one of the lowest and most stressful points of my life.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The company strives to offer employees a comprehensive benefit package, in addition to career development and advancement opportunities. The company is fiscally responsible and demonstrates a true commitment to its' mission to improve health and improve lives. During my brief tenure within Labcorp, I've grown to appreciate the contributions of this organization to the clients, patients and communities it serves. Overall, Labcorp is a good place to work and offers career paths with longevity.

      Cons

Labcorp is a large company, which can make it difficult to navigate and network. Also, there are nuances within HR and IT processes that make it difficult to achieve desired outcomes in a timely fashion; however, I do not believe this to be unique to Labcorp.
