What is the hiring process like at Labcorp?

      Labcorp reviews

      Worst onboarding I've ever encountered

      Sr. product designer
      Former contractor

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Interview process was quick. Only 3 interviews and made a decision within the week.

      Cons

Started me on my personal computer because they didn't have equipment ready. (Red Flag) Getting access to resources is very difficult, Requires submitting various specific forms with very specific details. Finding the correct form is pretty much impossible so a lot of time spent opening tickets only for IT to close them and not help you find the right place to submit a ticket. My "manager" offered no help getting onboarded and seemed frustrated that I didn't figure it all out quickly. Take my opinion with a grain of salt, they ended my contract 3 weeks in because "I wasn't getting it!" Pretty difficult to "get it" when a company is this disorganized.

I would recommend exploring other opportunities where fair treatment, transparency, and growth are prioritized.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

There may be a significant amount of overtime, and team members are expected to stay until all work is complete if you like overtime then go for it.

      Cons

There are ongoing concerns regarding workplace practices. Employees are often required to stay late, even when shipments arrive outside of scheduled hours. There have been observations of inappropriate relationships between management and staff that have not been addressed despite being reported. Concerns raised to upper management appear to go unresolved. There is also a perception of gender bias in the hiring process, with female applicants more likely to be offered positions. Favoritism among team leads and managers who are predominantly male. The process for raises are inconsistent, with some long term employees (15+ years) not receiving fair or competitive wage increases.

      Pros

      - Good Benefits, PTO is very competitive. - STD is particularly good. The process is easy and management is supportive. - Pay is good for the industry.

      Cons

      - Horribly managed in every area. Lack of support at every single level means that management is burnt out, and the company and employees suffer. - Overworked, underpaid, understaffed. The location layed a massive amount of people off, then begged for them back several months later. - Animal Welfare is a joke. It is rarely taken seriously, and many employees that work closely with the animals suffer from mental health issues as a result of that. - Tasks are taken on regardless of feasibility, which results in periods of excessive overtime and lack of support. - Promotions seem to be largely based off of who you know, not what skills you have.

      Pros

I have worked for LabCorp for 5 years. I came in at the bottom and worked/earned my way to be able to work from home. I kept applying to LabCorp for 7 years before anyone actually went through the hiring process with me. As long as you have open communication with your management team, they can be flexible. There is lots of benefits that most aren't aware. You just have to look, there is so many they couldn't possibly tell us about all of them. I plan for this to be the company I retire from. I have a long ways to go, but I dont plan on going any where.

      Cons

I have no cons for the actual work as an employee.

      Pros

Incredible Onboarding Support. Consistent policies within the global network. Competitive pay. Incredible opportunity to create and build a department from the ground up. Multiple supportive teams with involvement of project management to help with implementation. I feel very fortunate to have been given this opportunity and can't thank them enough!

      Cons

Delayed hiring; although due to good reason because of the starting a new department.

      Pros

Supportive team members and seamless process, a lot to learn

      Cons

Poor hiring of managers with zero or minimal knowledge of basic skills and doesn’t understand the process and micromanagement and favoritism at its peak. People pleasing and not asking questions please the management. Intelligent brains intimidate them

      Unprofessional Recruitment Process

      Anonymous employee
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      The recruitment department where helpful.

      Cons

I completed the initial phone vetting process and was subsequently offered an interview. However, on the day of the interview, I received a call just three hours beforehand informing me that it had been cancelled because the vacancy was being put on hold. This was handled in an unprofessional manner and showed a lack of consideration for candidates’ time and preparation. It seems likely that the role had been advertised without confirmed budget approval, particularly given it was close to year-end, yet the process was allowed to continue regardless.
