What is the hiring process like at Nisum?

      Pros

Good technical knowledge from some of the seniors

      Cons

Pressure, politics, and religion are the most common topics of concern in this organization. Promotions and salary hikes depend on how well connected you are with operations and delivery leadership, and in some cases, religious affiliations seem to influence decisions. HR function is also quite weak. Rather than acting as an independent employee advocate, HR often appears to follow instructions from operations leadership without taking the time to understand employee concerns or have meaningful discussions. This creates a perception of unfairness, lack of transparency, and limited trust in the overall people management process.

      Pros

As a fresher, joining Nisum has been a very positive experience. The training program was well structured and helped me build a strong foundation in both technical and soft skills. The onboarding process was smooth, and everything was well-organized from day one. What really stood out to me was the friendly and collaborative work environment my teammates, seniors, and mentors have all been incredibly supportive and approachable. The management is also transparent and encouraging, creating a space where learning and growth are genuinely valued. The Bhubaneswar office has a great vibe, and I feel motivated to contribute and grow every day.

      Cons

      office location can be improved

      Good for Technical on projects

      Pros

If you are billable and working directly with the customer it is really great. No dependency with the senior leadership of Nisum or delivery managers is a very good situation.

      Cons

If there is any sort of dependency with the senior leadership please beware. Very cut throat and you will be eliminated with no notice. I am sincerely amazed at how HR fires on the same day having the access revoked and shredding employees. I see no compassion in the process. I am not sure why the senior leadership have to kick some one the same day. It is a process the candidate goes through the performance review and all the genuine process but they resort to mean process. Strongly surprised at the CEO knowing all steps but taking no measure to curtail the senior leadership.

Leadership Failure in India Operations – Toxic and Self-Serving Environment

      Pros

      The pro is the food

      Cons

The India Operations Head has been a consistent failure across every role held—starting with Admin and Recruitment, both of which have crumbled under this persons watch. Processes are broken, hiring is either frozen or chaotic, and there’s zero strategy. The ground floor of the office is practically empty—not because of remote work, but because people are either leaving or being pushed out due to this persons poor leadership. Morale is at an all-time It’s clear the goal is personal power: to run everything in this persons “Bhai’s company” with zero corporate experience, no room for dissenting voices or independent thinking. Anyone who doesn’t fit that plan is being sidelined.

      Pros

      - Respectful interview process. - Great onboarding: you'll receive a great machine and implements 2 days before starting. - Your manager will throw you under the bus with a smile.

      Cons

      - Lackluster salary and benefits. - 4 months trial contract instead of the usual 3 in Chile. 🚩 - Working here is a rite of passage: even management will tell you that the company-client will give you employment, after 1 or 2 years of grueling work, if you are good enough. 🚩 - High stress clients for whom you are disposable talent. No help navigating the company-client culture. - You will be a second class citizen for any company you are inserted in. - Your manager will throw you under the bus with a smile.

      Pros

I had joined Nisum as a fresher in their Bhubaneswar office, and it has been an amazing beginning to my career. Right from the interview to the joining date, everything was managed professionally and smoothly by the recruitment team. They were helpful, prompt, and made the entire joinery process hassle-free. The trainee period was well planned and extremely useful in developing technical as well as soft skills. As a fresher, I really enjoyed the learning experience and the time taken to develop us. The most significant aspect of Nisum is the culture of guidance and teamwork. The seniors are friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and ever willing to direct you when necessary. Their guidance has been exceptionally useful in my initial career. A special mention to the Bhubaneswar office head, Satish Kumar – a great leader who fosters an encouraging and positive atmosphere for all. Their leadership and friendly attitude have contributed significantly towards building a great team culture here. If you're interested in beginning your career in technology with an organization that cares about learning, promotes growth, and has a great company culture, Nisum is a great option. Happy to be a part of this organization!

      Payment delays on corp-to-corp

      Pros

Very good client base and company is expanding.

      Cons

If you're on a corp-to-corp arrangement, don't expect timely payments. They officially hold payments for two months, and even after that, it takes an additional 3 to 4 weeks for them to process the payment from the designated date. Their accounting and finance team is unresponsive to calls and emails regarding delayed payments, taking their own time to release the funds. Even escalating the issue to the client-side account/delivery manager doesn't help, as they show little concern for resolving payment delays.
