Thank you for sharing your Implementation Consultant experience. It's great to see you're enjoying the benefits, flexibility, and people. We're happy you see the value in our product as well especially as a Customer Experience team member. We've made positive strides toward becoming a generational company because of our successful products. We're true market leaders in a space that matters. It's disappointing to see that you had a negative experience with OneTrust's performance management process. We believe career progression and advancement can happen in a number of ways - through new assignments or rotational opportunities, learning new skills, exposure to new customers or problems to solve, and promotions. When you’re defining and operating in a dynamic market there are no shortage of those opportunities. We became a market leader by challenging ourselves, learning every day, and never being satisfied. In the past few performance review cycles, many of our team members were also promoted or moved laterally into new roles within the company. We will continue to promote these opportunities and other career development offerings in the future.

      Pros

I’ve been at OneTrust for quite some time. The only two reasons I’ve stayed for this many years is 1) the people I worked with & 2) the benefits. The healthcare, WFH, and flexibility to take care of personal things while working was great. The people I worked with shared a mutual distrust and hatred for OneTrust, but stayed because of the employee community we built.

      Cons

Massive layoffs over the last two years. The first time they did layoffs, they cut 1/3 of the company. We were caught off guard and disappointed. We bounced back, they rehired, but continued to secretly lay people off behind the scenes. No big announcements or statement from the CEO. Every time you got on LinkedIn and searched OneTrust, you could see people posting they got laid off. Come July 2024, they laid off another massive group of people. The FAQ doc that the People Team sent out, mentioned that the team might have more workload but we should all be comfortable with picking up the extra work bc we’re “OneTeam.” They did NOT care if you contributed 2 years or 7 years to this god awful company. They laid off anyone they thought was making too much money, or the role wasn’t a necessity anymore. They laid off so many people, but are okay with having job postings up? Over the years, they handled a lot of situations very poorly. When CCPA enforcement was happening, Kabir (CEO) forced people to work over the holidays and said things like “this is a war! You’re either in it or against us!” I’m sorry, but what? When Covid happened, after the CDC advices folks to stop meeting in groups more than 10, Kabir was still requiring people to come to the office — holding team meetings as well. Not only that, HR was emailing us “You can work from home til (insert date) only. Don’t forget we do not tolerate work from home and we are not that type of company. You are required to come in when we say.” There is absolutely no review process for your managers. If they are terrible, you can cry about it because nothing will be done. People who work hard and deserve promotions/raises aren’t given them. OneTrust has a “committee” of managers that oversees who will get a promotion on a basic “yes” “no” vote. Got this information from someone on that committee! Work here if the benefits are all you care for. I would say this company is experiencing a fallout. They fired the CMO, and two other chief executives.

Thanks for sharing your perspective. It's disappointing to see you had a negative OneTrust experience. We recently realigned our organization around our core product strategy. Like many companies, we regularly assess our organizational needs to best serve our customers and position the company for long-term success. This realignment is aimed at significantly enhancing our speed, responsiveness, and flexibility. The restructuring was carefully considered, and we repositioned many employees into new business units and roles to minimize the impact on our workforce. Unfortunately, some employees were affected, and we have supported them through this transition. While this transition brings change, it also presents immense opportunities. Our commitment to supporting our customers remains unwavering, and we are confident that we will continue to foster greater innovation, success, and sustained growth.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. It's great to see you enjoyed your benefits, PTO, office, and flexibility during your time at OneTrust. We are proud of the benefits we provide our people like unlimited PTO and generous parental leave. We also know our people appreciate the flexibility to work from home while having opportunities to collaborate in person too. That's why we're introducing our new Working @ OneTrust initiative to give our people that balance. We are also upgrading offices and opening new offices to grow and scale our teams by bringing in experts from around the globe. It's a really exciting time to join the OneTrust team as we continue to grow and address brand new trust challenges in the market - including ones that don't even exist yet! Our global team has a giant TAM we can expand into as regulations, technology, and society continue to shift. This has provided and will continue to provide ample learning opportunities for our people to learn and grow themselves. We look forward to what this means for OneTrust and its 14,000+ customers!

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. The people at OneTrust are talented and driven to do what's good for society and business. It makes collaboration and forming relationships one of the best parts about working at OneTrust. It's great to see you've enjoyed the flexibility in your role as well. Being the market leader in a software category that we have defined ourselves sets high expectations for our people. We owe it to our customers to give them a best-in-class product and experience. We owe it to our own employees too! This means we may work outside the normal 9 to 5 hours at times. Our R&D in India also does a great job of having fun outside of work. Recently, they have had fun team outings and retreats to celebrate their wins and form great relationships. We know there is more work to do before we get to where we want to go, and we look forward to the journey ahead. Thanks again for your feedback.

OneTrust Delivers on Professional Growth While Valuing Work-Life Balance

      Pros

I've been with OneTrust for over 8 years, and it's genuinely the best professional environment I've experienced. The company strikes an exceptional balance between cutting-edge technology and sustainable work-life balance. We work with modern tech stacks (cloud-native architecture, microservices, AI/ML for privacy automation) that keep your skills relevant in the industry. The culture here is collaborative rather than competitive. My colleagues are not just technically skilled but also willing to mentor and share knowledge. The leadership team is transparent about company direction and actually listens to feedback from all levels. What truly sets OneTrust apart is the growth trajectory. I've had multiple opportunities to lead projects and explore new technologies. The company invests heavily in professional development with regular training sessions, conference attendance, and certification support. The flexible work arrangements (hybrid model) and respect for personal time make it possible to maintain a healthy life outside work. The benefits package is comprehensive, and the company events foster genuine camaraderie among teams.

      Cons

The rapid growth means some processes are still evolving, which can occasionally lead to communication gaps between departments. As we scale, there's sometimes a learning curve with new tools and systems being implemented. Additionally, the ambitious product roadmap means priorities can shift quickly, requiring adaptability from team members. While the company is working on it, some legacy code areas could benefit from more comprehensive documentation.

Thanks for taking the time to share your OneTrust experience. It's great to see you're enjoying your flexibility and benefits. We are proud of the strides we've made to improve these aspects of our total rewards packages, including Flexible PTO globally and company-paid healthcare premiums in the US. Our Benefits team is hard at work to adapt our benefits packages to provide even more perks to help employees exceed both in and outside of the office. We look forward to their continued progress. While OneTrust started eight years ago as a traditional start-up, we've seen huge growth for where we are as a company. Because of this, we've transitioned to a scale-up. This a natural trajectory for a company like ours. We've brought in experienced leaders from other successful SaaS companies to help direct us as we position ourselves for long-term growth. As the trust industry changes through technology, regulations, and society, we count on our leaders to provide the right direction and strategy. Our industry does change often, and that requires a certain adaptive quality for our people to excel at OneTrust. We know there are going to be changes in the future, and we look forward to what that means for the OT team. Thanks again for sharing your feedback.
