      Business Outlook

      Cons

None really. Depends on what team you’re in.

      Shell

      Researcher
      Current employee
      Houston, TX
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Strong work-life balance with reasonable hours and flexibility that's rare in the energy sector. The compensation package is competitive, and benefits are comprehensive—health coverage, retirement matching, and other perks are solid. As a major multinational, Shell provides access to interesting technical projects and exposure to global operations.

      Cons

Decision-making can be painfully slow due to multiple layers of approval and corporate bureaucracy. Even straightforward technical decisions often require extensive documentation and sign-offs, which can be frustrating when you want to move quickly on projects. The organizational structure sometimes prioritizes process over progress.

      Good for family

      Hr advisor
      Current employee
      Cyberjaya
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Cons

Low base pay, competition between team mates are high

      Profits over people

      Project manager
      Former employee
      Aberdeen, Scotland
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Coworkers and good benefits (that are rapidly being eroded)

      Cons

Cut throat. Only care is for the shareholders. Shell in the UK is headed by a bunch of narcissists that reshuffle their leadership like people change socks to disguise their own failings. Seems Shell Group has the last laugh by getting rid of us all in a smoke and mirrors IJV construct with Equinor where we will no longer have any Shell benefits, eg final salary pension. This also distances the Shell Group from UK fiscal chaos, decommissioning liabilities, and unprofitable decarbonisation, nice move Wael.
