Great Career Launch: Friendly Team, High Tempo

      Java senior engineer
      Current contractor
      Kraków
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      * Structured launchpad for juniors – SoftServe University, bootcamps, and a clear 6-month onboarding plan get you productive fast and make the steep learning curve feel manageable. * Mentorship culture – senior engineers and “buddy” programs are genuinely hands-on; pair-programming and weekly feedback sessions accelerate growth and confidence. * Diverse, global projects on modern stacks – cloud-native, data-science, and AI engagements for Fortune 500 clients let you try different domains without changing employers. * Transparent career ladder – promotion criteria and salary bands are published; performance reviews happen twice a year, so you always know your next target. * Continuous learning perks – company-funded AWS/GCP certifications, internal tech talks, English courses, and an annual conference budget keep skills current. * Friendly, flat teams – approachable leadership, open-door policy, and regular team-building events create a supportive atmosphere even when deadlines are tight. * Flexible work style – hybrid or fully remote options, core-hours policy, and managers who actually respect PTO help balance the “high tempo” of projects. * Solid benefits for entry level – competitive junior salaries, private health insurance, gym reimbursement, and up to 20 paid vacation days from day one.

      Cons

      * Pace can border on burnout – tight client deadlines and multiple parallel tasks sometimes require evening or weekend catch-up, especially on smaller teams. * Process overhead creeps in – Jira rituals, status reports, and layered approvals can consume a surprising chunk of sprint time. * Compensation flattens after mid-level – salary jumps are solid early on, but raises slow noticeably once you pass the “regular” engineer band. * Project assignment not always transparent – matching benches to engagements is driven by immediate client demand, so you may get reshuffled with minimal notice. * Managerial quality varies – while many leads are supportive mentors, a few inexperienced PMs can struggle with scope control and feedback delivery.

Horrible interview experience for LATAM team

      Project coordinator
      Current employee
      Guadalajara, Jalisco
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Nothing. Only that the recruiter was nice to explain the process and benefits.

      Cons

The interview process for the Scrum Master / Project Coordinator position at this company appears to be highly rushed and disorganized, leading to a negative candidate experience. They scheduled five interviews in a two days time frame: one with HR, another one with the hiring manager, other one with othe two PMs, another one to have a prep with the customer and last one with the customer. Everything was "good" but extremely rushed, they even seemed a fraud company because of how they were acting. The call to have a prep for the customer call, was awful. Manager was late and when he arrived, he used unproper language. This call was hurriedly and without due diligence. Customer Interview: This meeting was abruptly cancelled by Azael Meza without any communication, which is highly unprofessional. This not only reflects poor planning but also a lack of respect for the candidate's time. It raises concerns about the company's internal communication and their relationship with the customer. Additionally, the unprofessional behavior displayed by the engineering manager, including the use of inappropriate language, is a significant red flag. It suggests a potentially toxic work environment and a lack of professionalism in the team. Overall, the rushed nature of the process, lack of professionalism, and poor communication significantly undermine the effectiveness of the hiring process and the company's image. For a candidate, these are warning signs about the company culture and operational efficiency.

      Pros

SoftServe has built a wonderful culture throughout the years. The company promotes thoughtful opinions, strong contributors and customer-centric outcomes. SoftServe has been able to keep its focus on key technology trends, capabilities and partnerships so that they can pass these benefits on to their customer base.

      Cons

Sometimes SoftServe can be so focused on the technology and the implementation of it, they can forget to also focus on less tangible areas - organizational change, strategic ventures, engagement modalities, etc.
