Pros
This company offers a great work environment and opportunities for advancement, depending on your location. They also provide excellent benefits, including free medical care and a generous 403(b) matching or pension option.
Cons
You have to pay for parking, and if you’re new, you’ll pay but not get to park in the garage. Instead, you’ll have to park in a far lot and take the shuttle. If you do end up getting garage access, it’s been full many times without any spots left. Parking has been a major issue the last few years.
Your work experience here will heavily depend on your direct team members, including your boss and coworkers. The first few years, I genuinely enjoyed my job here, but after the leadership change, it quickly deteriorated. I felt unable to perform my job because the leadership was forcing their will on things I didn’t agree with. I felt compelled to submit compliance reports, which are supposed to be anonymous, but with such a small team, it was easy to figure out who had made the report. This made me feel like I had a target on my back, even though there was a strict no-retaliation policy. I felt like I wasn’t given the opportunity to move into another position because of this. It’s clear that they only wanted people who would blindly agree to everything without questioning it. I couldn’t do that and still do my job effectively. Ultimately, this was the reason I decided to leave.
