AE Strategies interview questions

After submitting my application, I received an email from the Senior Corporate recruiter for a preliminary phone interview. I moved on to the second and third rounds of interviews with the Vice President and Senior Designer. I was then asked to provide references and submit to a background check. Finally, the Senior I/O Consultant & HR Manager reached out to me to answer any final questions I may have about both the role and the company. I was told they would have a decision in a week. I followed up two weeks later and was told they were still in the decision-making process. I never followed up again, and they basically ghosted me after a month and a half process - not even a rejection email to let me know that they went with another candidate.
