Had talked to a recruiter through a few phone calls. They went very well we went through what I do at my current position and we touched upon all of the bullet points for the position which I had qualified pretty much all of them. Finally had a call with a marketing manager – after exchanging pleasantries I could immediately sense a harsh/aggravated tone. We went through the first 2 questions and then the 3rd question was very broad but I touched lightly on everything in the role but they had asked the question again as if I was not understanding and she cut me off and very aggressively asked the same question. I almost felt like I should have ended the call there with that unprofessionalism but I kept the conversation going. We had gotten to my questions which one that would be important to anybody is “How is the company culture and what do you like about working there?” What was said was this was a very heads down environment and we get our work done and that was pretty much a big red flag. Another question I had asked was “What you would be looking for in the role?” and at one point had mentioned spending evening hours, 10pm, in their daughters room scrubbing leads. I also found that the compensation offered wasn’t very competitive. Was not too much more than my current and was a definitely a position higher than mine.
Overall it does not sound like an ideal workspace. I understand that it may be a startup, which I have worked in before, and it could even be just the marketing area but I wouldn’t recommend here especially coming from a more positive company.
