Other Engineering Manager Interview Reviews for ASOS
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at ASOS (London, England) in Feb 2021
Interview
The process was all online and very straight forward. After an initial conversation with the internal recruiter to determine suitability for the role, I had a 30 min Microsoft Teams meeting with the Head of Engineering to talk more about the role and a bit about myself. Within a day or two I had a request for a 2-hour interview with a group of people including other managers and engineers on MS Teams. I was also asked to prepare a short PowerPoint presentation (no more than 20 min) to talk through. The timescales were also very quick, it was great to have an outcome within 2 days of each stage.
Overall, I found everyone I spoke with to be extremely smart, friendly and genuinely interested in understanding my level of experience and as such I found the process comfortable and relaxed enough to allow me to be myself.

Question 1
As an engineering manager they want to know if you are able to handle pressures of delivery and how you approach this challenge
There were 3 phases in total - starting with a role description and an expectations check which I think is really important for both parties to ensure there are no surprises in the end. The second one was more of a chat about my own experience and also an opportunity for me to ask any questions I had (which I had plenty of!)
The final interview was with the Head of Technology, Principal Engineer and an Engineering Manager. This was mainly situation / scenario based questions + some questions out of my answers on them.
