      Marketing Communication Specialist Interview

      Sep 4, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Santa Rosa, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Abbott (Santa Rosa, CA) in Jul 2025

      Interview

I went through five rounds of interviews with this company, starting with the recruiter, then my prospective boss, followed by the head of Government Affairs, the former Marketing Specialist (now Manager), and finally the head of HR. I even made the trip from the East Bay to their Santa Rosa headquarters for a sit-down interview. After all that, communication went silent. Two weeks later, I reached out to the hiring manager, who assured me HR would follow up. Another month passed with no word until I finally received an automated rejection email yesterday. The experience felt heartless and unprofessional. That said, it was also a blessing in disguise because I wouldn’t want to work for a company that doesn’t respect candidates’ time or effort. Younger generations expect transparency, empathy, and evolution in the workplace. This organization, deeply conservative in its culture, is not adapting to the needs of today’s workforce. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone who isn’t desperate for employment. People deserve better.
