The interview for this company sucks. I tried to interview with the company and the interviewer was having issue with zoom. They called me and I returned their call but never heard anything back from them. I tried to make another interview with them and they did not even have the politeness to call when the missed the interview for the second time. I tried to reach the hiring director and received no response after leaving a message. Avoid if possible.
- Never got to interview with the company due to lack of response.

The consultant and co-CEOs (who I found out were mother and son and obv a clear sign to avoid this organization as this does not make for a transparent and trusting reporting structure) run parallel processes and don't communicate with each other. The consultant doing the screening seemed to run a standard process. The mother asked about 30 questions in rapid-fire fashion and didn't take one note or ask any follow-up questions. The "interview" was so ridiculous, I had to pinch my thigh to keep from laughing in her face. Glad I didn't move forward in the process!

A recruiting specialist will interview you first, and will refer you to a principal if qualified. Very simple process and friendly conversation. They are also upfront about the challenges you may face on the job.
- What are you teaching philosophies?

Applied via online submission and submitted competency test, interviewed with assistant principal or principal. The interview process was pretty straightforward and difficulty was average to easy. I got an offer, but ended up declining said offer.
- What would your classroom look like if I walked in on a given day?

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Academies of Math and Science (Phoenix, AZ)
The interview was very smooth and enjoyable with just the principle. She asked very in-depth questions to really pique my brain which I can appreciate. I was hired on the spot at the end of the interview. The process has been smooth so far. I was promptly sent the contract as well as info for relocating and obtaining IVP since I'm from out of state. I was provided a relocation stipend which is amazingly helpful and was given my requested salary no questions asked. No complaints whatsoever!
- What does your classroom management look like? How do you handle ___ types of parents? What would you do in a situation involving serious problem behaviors?

First Zoom interview with hiring manager, then second Zoom interview with CEO. I was given a verbal and written offer immediately, which I accepted 2 days later. Then the circus began... First, someone from HR told me that they'd given the position to someone else. I never heard from the people I interviewed with again, which is sad because I really liked them. Then a few days later, the co-CEO told me that I was still being considered for the other position, which had the same job description but a higher salary. He said I could do a "trial run" at the job and see how it worked out. This seemed strange, but I was OK with it, and he told me he would get back to me by the end of the week. He never called back, and then I saw the same job that they had told me they had given to someone else posted AGAIN. I was so confused at this point that I wrote to the co-CEO asking for some clarification. He promptly replied that he didn't think I was a "good fit," meaning I'm difficult because I dared to ask questions, I guess. He said they have plenty of other candidates... yet they keep posting the same jobs over and over again. Bottom line, do not expect to be treated professionally by AMS. They don't care about people.

I received a phone interview invitation the same day I applied. The phone interview went well, and was quite informative. A video interview with the CEO followed up days later. It was the shortest interview I’ve undergone.

I initially interviewed with a recruiter, followed by an online math exam. I then interviewed with a potential principal, which has lead to my being given a test for mathematical competency. From my understanding, this is the last step in the process.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Anonymous Employee in Tucson, AZ
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Academies of Math and Science (Tucson, AZ) in Feb 2020
The interview process went like this first a Phone interview, then an in person interview. Then they let me know I had the position if I pass through the background checks, reference checks, and credit check. The from there I filled out new hire paperwork. This process was streamlined and pretty easy to follow and understand.
