Acclaro interview questions

The interview process is completely dishonest. The firm does not disclose its rates upfront, which creates the impression that it is trying to obtain linguists at the lowest possible rate rather than ethically engaging with qualified professionals. I had a very unpleasant experience with this firm. The role was presented as a long-term freelance opportunity with regular assignments. After I provided my proposed senior-linguist rates, the recruiter responded with the company’s maximum budget: USD 0.07 per word or USD 27/hour. After I agreed to those rates, I was invited to complete a one-way online interview, where I had to record answers to three questions. There was no live interviewer and, more importantly, no meaningful opportunity to give context or elaborate on my answers, as I had barely eleven minutes total to answer all three questions. Shortly afterwards, I received a generic rejection stating that the company would not move forward with my application, despite meeting and exceeding the position requirements. Based on Acclaro’s own “transparency” principle, I asked for clarification. Unfortunately, I was simply told that I “wouldn’t be the best fit.” No specific or legitimate explanation was provided regarding the actual reason for the decision.
