There’s an initial phone call that is first part of the interview, and then you complete the second part of the application where you answer interview questions via video. It’s not live but you record yourself answering the questions within a certain time limit. Afterwards, once you get accepted by the program you get an offer from a school and you do one final interview (supposed to be around 90 minutes with demo lesson, role play, questions about your teaching philosophies/techniques) with the school’s administration.

Question 1
Why do you want to work with/for Achievement First?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Achievement First (New York, NY) in Sep 2018
Interview
There was an initial phone interview with a recruiter for about 30 minutes. The interview was very conversational and easy going. From there, the recruiter referred me to a school and I received a finalist interview invitation. When I arrived I was given a tour, observed a few classes, and then gave my demo lesson for 15 minutes. I was given live coaching but it was so helpful! Everyone during the process were so nice and helped ease my nerves. Then, I had a debrief and formal interview with the principal and a few other people. It was honestly a great experience and I fell in love with the school. All in all it lasted 2 and a half hours. I was offered the job on the spot!
The process was very organized and timely. It was a very professional process. They were clear on their expectations for the interview process. At the beginning of the interview I was able to present my demo lesson and received quality feedback.
I applied online. I interviewed at Achievement First (Providence, RI) in Feb 2021
Interview
After submitting your resume and answering some questions you're asked to complete a video interview. If you're moved forward, you have a short phone interview before being moved onto the finalist steps. Before the finalist interview, there's a finalist prep day so that you're prepared for the final interview. In the final interview, you're asked to teach a 5-10 minute lesson plan to the interviewers.
