This was an extremely unprofessional clinic and a complete waste of time. There essentially was no interview.
I received a call from Activa Clinics and the person said she came across my public resume. She said that the Scarborough location clinic was looking for a kinesiologist with my credentials and experience. I asked for details about the type of clinic it was and she did not have much to say. She said it was best to schedule an in person interview with the Scarborough clinic director, so I moved my schedule around to meet for 10:30AM on a Friday.
I arrived 10 minutes early to the clinic and was told by the receptionist that the director was running a bit late. There was already an IT consultant there scheduled to meet with the director. After waiting for about 40 minutes, another candidate arrived for an 11 AM interview. The IT guy was also very upset. The receptionist called the director and he asked her to reschedule the appointment with the IT professional and to conduct the two interviews herself. It was obvious the clinic was disorganized. The receptionist advised myself she would interview me.
During the "interview" the receptionist advised that the clinic was a 100% MVA based clinic. She asked me for my availability and if I would essentially be willing to push patients to use all the services offered by the clinic. The "interview" lasted about 5 minutes. She told me that Activa clinics takes a long time to get back to candidates about the position.
It was a horrible experience, especially since THEY contacted me. During my time waiting, a couple of patients walked in and were set up on passive modalities and that was all they received. I emailed Activa after about my experience and have yet to hear back. If you are a kinesiologist looking to work with people with injuries and learn and grow in the industry, stay away from this clinic. If you are kinesiologist with any bit of self-respect, stay away from this clinic.
