Interview
I applied for Product Manager (Risk) via referral directly to the hiring manager in May 2021. The hiring manager contacted me 1.5mo later for an interview after which I was moved to case study stage with the VP of Product, hiring manager and eng manager. I was sent the case on a Friday evening/ EOD for a Tuesday presentation with no regard for the rest of my engagements - unusual but not unheard of, so fine. It was a case study relating to an entirely different topic vs Risk, which is what my specialisation was in and hence the role I applied to.
At the beginning of the case study interview (July) the VP of Product emphasised how important inclusion is to him etc. (it is mentioned as a prominent priority for me on my CV). During the presentation he remarked about how my approach was unique and covered angles that the 7+ other candidates had not picked up on. However they did ask questions about my data calculations. Overall, hard to tell whether I met expectations.
After that, they completely vanished, despite 2-3 follow ups to the recruiter and hiring manager both. This was quite annoying considering this was a fairly senior full-time position. The recruiter called me 2+ months later saying they had chosen another candidate.
Overall, I had a disappointing candidate experience and don't recommend the company as I saw dissonance between their actions and values.

Have you launched any product features previously, and how? Case study was regarding the integration of a local payment method. The case contained 1-2 data points, the rest to be assumed.

I got a call from recruiter weeks after applying unexpectedly to ask about my experience the schedule the next round with hiring manager which was less than 30 mins then the next round the following week. The hiring was in 3 stages interview and mostly asking the same questions from the previous stage. They talk a lot about AI yet there’s not a single mention of AI in the job listing. Goal post kept changing each stage and not reflecting the listing. Each stage felt like the final one but afterwards, you are told there’s another one with someone else. Made it not structured at one point. And based on questions, you can tell burn out will be high because they kept mentioning things that showed you are on your own from day one.
Applyed via Lindkedin and from there forwaded to the company website. I had an interview with the recruiter, did not pass to next stage. Not sure why and what was the thresholds to proceed
