      Gate Agent Interview

      Jan 18, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Allegiant Air in Nov 2014

      Interview

The initial interview was a group interview. There were possibly 20 people there and the manager of the location had a presentation on the company's values, the position, and what they were looking for in an employee. Then there was a small break and whoever was still interested in the position could stay. Then they had 3 questions for us and each person stood and answered the questions 1 by 1. The questions were "Tell us which Allegiant value is your favorite and why", "Tell us one of your past customer service experiences", and "Why do you want to work fro Allegiant". After that there was an in person interview that had some more general interview questions about strengths and experiences. The onboarding process does take a really long time though. There is a ton of paperwork to fill out, you need to get fingerprinted and drug-tested within 24 hours of your acceptance (which can be difficult because fingerprinting can be hard to get a quick appointment for). This all makes sense though because you are working in an airport and they need to verify that you can have access to everything. There is over 70 hours of computer tutorial training about policies and such which can be very tiring. This doesn't include the actual on-the-job-training.
