Typical technical interview process for mid- to senior-level positions: HR screening, followed by technical take-home assignment and multiple technical and non-technical interviews with the team.
Having completed the entire interview process with positive feedback, I continued to follow up for 5 straight months. Every time, I was told to hang tight, because the team was traveling and working through some deadlines. Finally, after 5 months of this, I sent a final email requesting that they at least confirm that I am no longer being considered for the role, and they ghosted me entirely.
At least have the professional decency to be honest and forthright with your candidates.
