Phone screen asking for background and a self-ranking of skills relevant to the position. 1-hour video call with interview panel asking for more self-rankings, followed by specific probing of those rankings, then standardized exam-style questions, and one or two open-ended questions.
Unfortunately, the questions were not relevant to my background, which should have been clear from my resume and phone screen. Moreover, the questions asked were intended to probe one's written exam-taking skills, not one's expertise. It was a waste of time that should have been avoided by more appropriate job description and screening.
