I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Architecture Technology Corporation (Washington, DC) in May 2022
Interview
Unusually for an engineering position, they asked me for a technical interview with an engineer as a first interview, then offered me an "initial interview" with a recruiter afterward. After that second interview, I didn't hear back from them, despite following up with them a couple times.

Interview
I was so excited to get this interview. I had done my homework and I knew that Architecture Technology Corporation, aside from working on some very cool stuff also has an awesome company culture that I want to be a part of.
They use a 3 step process.
1) HR interview
2) Technical Phone Interview
3) On site
HR interview is super easy and easy to schedule. They send you a link, you pick your time and they even send email reminders.
Questions seemed bland. When I pushed the interviewer on this she said they were asking for cultural fit.
What I discovered is Architecture Technology Corporation has won the When Work Works Award for 7 years in a row. The award goes to companies that have flexible work hours and great work cultures. After taking to my parents I found out that my Mom works for a When Work Works Award winning company too.
The HR person, told me they survey the team often and when interviewing they ask questions that are pain points for the team. They know the behaviors the team favors and are looking for those same behaviors in their new hires.
When I asked what the behaviors were, she said she couldn't tell me, which at first pissed me off. Why the hell won't you tell me. Then she explained to me that if everyone knew the current team's preferred behaviors they would fake their answers and ruin the culture at Architecture Technology Corporation.
I'm guessing that they are looking for people who are honest (not like the gal that lied about having her drivers license), those that are responsible and who know a little bit about the culture already (unlike the Senior guy that interviewed with the VP that clearly didn't research this company at all!).
They even mentioned their company culture and awards in the ad I responded to, I realized this after I interviewed and asked about the company culture (boy did I feel dumb).
So those "easy" questions are really cultural fit questions.
My take away was, if you don't fit with the culture, you won't get the technical interview.
Want to know about the culture, research the company, re- read the add, visit their websites. Google the company and look for news articles about them (this goes for any place you are applying to).
Maybe my mistakes will help you get your dream job.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Architecture Technology Corporation (Washington, DC) in Nov 2018
Interview
If you can understand technical writing they will hire you, they just need warm bodies with bachelor's degrees. Interviewed with three people, all very friendly and professional. Didn't hear back from HR for several months, you will need to bug HR or they will never get back to you. If you get someone else's email besides HR recommend you email them to lean on HR or it may be 6 months before you hear anything.
