I had one of the more unusual interview experiences with Awardco. I appreciate their consideration, but the process itself was a bit odd. I was given a timed assessment and spent a significant amount of time carefully reading and re-reading each prompt to ensure I understood the requirements. I made sure all provided test cases passed before moving on to the next problem.
I later discovered that once a section was submitted, it wasn’t possible to return to it. Because the total time to complete was an hour and a half for all three problems (rather than 30 minutes each), I chose to move forward in case a more complex problem appeared later.
I was told they wouldn’t move forward because I hadn’t tested additional edge cases. Under normal software engineering practices, I would complete the task first and then use remaining time to refine, test edge cases, and clean up the solution. Unfortunately, that approach wasn’t possible due to not being able to revisit earlier sections of the assessment.

Interview
Online coding assessment, recruiter screen, and development panel interview. Online assessment is pretty open ended on what language to use. Panel interview involves a tour of the office and a live coding challenge using Vue.js.
