I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at BMO Financial Group (Montreal, QC) in May 2015

      Interview

First and foremost there was a video Interview, in which you had to describe yourself. Afterwards a phone Interview was conducted, it described the position and if i was a fit for it. Finally an In-person Interview with scenario specific situational questions.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BMO Financial Group (Mississauga, ON) in Sep 2015

      Interview

week 1 (Friday) applied online. Week 2 (Monday) was asked to do video interview. Week 2 (within 2 days) simulation assessment. week 2 (Friday) Phone Interview Scheduled but then rescheduled for Week 3 ( Monday). Week 4 (Friday): received email that they have decided to not proceed with the application for the position. Here is my thought on the process: The process was smooth, friendly and professional. There were many things to learn from the process, about the job, location, pay, transportation and their expectations. I was left with a positive impression of BMO as an employer. I don't quit so I will apply again. The recruiter had told me that I will get response after 1 week of the phone interview. I sent a follow up email after one week. I was on the job when I got the rejection email reply. It faded my smile for a while but I reminded myself that I am sales and customer pro and I was supposed to be on stage with smile at all times. Why did they reject me? I don't know. But here are few things I can reflect on. 1 - I think I took more than usual time for the simulation assessment as the next link on my computer was responding slow ( Time matters) 2- I think they found a better candidate whose qualifications better matched their job requirements. 3- Their location is in an area where as per the recruiter there is no public transportation between 2:00 AM and 6:30 AM which is their ending and starting shift time and as per the recruiter, scheduling is based on performance and bidding. I was applying from Scarborough ( Although I was planning to move) may (location, Location, Location) have impacted my chances. 4- Despite the fact that I have better sales record at my current job, I had no experience in selling financial products. 5 - I am internationally educated. What Strong points I had going into the interview? 1- I have a bachelors degree in Business ( B.COM) and 2 Year Diploma in Business Administration. I have extensive knowledge of Business including banking and finance. 2. I am top seller at my current place and am an experienced customer service professional, the position I was applying involved 40% sales and 40% customer service. I think I had it covered 80%. 3- I am adept in technology, in fact -- a programmer and web developer by hobby. They were stressing on multitasking using different software. I am confident that I am good at that. 4. I am open and ready to adopt to any corporate culture. I am writing this few hours after my rejection email. I thought I should write about the process. It might help someone. Sad news makes you sad but over all I have positive impression of the position, the process and BMO.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

1 - Why BMO Contact Center? 2 - What is it that you do in order to be the top seller? 3. What would you do if a customer calls to CC, after failing to contact the Branch several times? Tell me about yourself? How do you take a negative feedback from your supervisor? What are your career goals? How comfortable are you with softwares? etc. All questions start with 'give me a specific example'
